Pompey take on Hull in what would of been a relegation six pointer a week ago, now though with our deduction newly in place, it is more a case of a relegation threatened side up against a doomed side.
Avram has almost said stuff the Premier league, he feels the 9 point deduction was unjust and says we owe them no favours.
A long team meeting was to have taken place today to ascertain who wants to play and who wants to see out the season as they feel fit. If this is true, we will learn a lot about certain players tomorrow, if a couple of first choice players are suddenly absent until the semi-final, it will go some way to explaining their character and desire. Relegated or not, if I was a player I would still want to play every game available.
Another thing to consider is us fans, do we want to see a team in blue roll over every match? Especially against a side that we are a match for, and a side who are now managed by a trio of ex-scum players.
David James is a doubt with his calf, while Yebda and Boateng are not quite fit yet, Ben Haim may come back into the reckoning, hopefully with Wilson moving back into midfield rather than centre back where he suddenly looks out of place.
You can bet he will want to play, he also needs to re-find his form which has slipped in the last two games.
Hull are in almost as deep as Pompey, their form is dire, 20 games without a win sees them just above Pompey, although certainly a few points better off! To be fair they held Arsenal well last time out, but finally succumbed, Boateng saw red in that match and so will be banned tomorrow.
Stephen Hunt may return and this would offset the absence of Zayatte who was carried off against the Gunners.
He is the man who seems to make them tick, until his latest injury he was bang in form, if he finds it again we could be in trouble
No defeats in 8 for Pompey against Hull, now wins in the last 3 either, a 2-2 draw under Tony Adams the last time we scored against them.
