Return of the crunch

Rip roaring Portsmouth!

On Sky

Premier league survival is obviously paramount, but this game is as big as they come for anyone in Hampshire and the surrounding areas, neraly 5 years (yes, really) have passed since we last met, fortunes have twisted and turned since then, but the pride instilled in a Pompey win will remain the same.

Vital Quotes:

Don't know about everyone else but this game has been a long time coming for me, I have done a job in Hedge end for scum season ticket holders, and also one near Botley, I've thouroughly enjoyed winding up the natives talking about our easy passage into the quarter-finals, trouble is I have to face one of these customers again, so {Pompey had better not fail me!
After Tuesday's performance against Sunderland, I am hoping the passion and agression will flow on into this game, Pompey showed signs of a pulse in that match, only Richard Hughes has played in a South coast derby before, but if the players want to know how much it means to us fans, they will find out against Stoke, lose and they will be vilified, win and we will forgive them almost anything.

Them Team News:

Scum will be without their January signings Jose Fonte, Dan Seaborne, Jon Otsemebor and Jason Puncheon who are all cup-tied, Lee Barnard is eligible however and can step straight in. Chris Perry and Radhi Jaidi will probably come back in for the cup tied players.

Player to watch: Ricky Lambert

22 goals tells its own story, he has been prolific in the lower leagues for a while, goes without saying he is their main man.

Rip roaring Portsmouth! Team News:

Pompey will be without Rocha after his red card, O'Hara has been granted permission to play in the cup this time round, if Tosic is eligible remains to be seen however, we have no new injury doubts and Utaka is supposedly fit to go as well, Boateng and Vanden Borre remain doubtful.

Player to watch: Dindane

He might struggle for goals in the Premiership a bit, but he does get into positions to miss the chances, may find a bit more space against lesser defenders.

Match Facts & Stats

4-1 is engraved on our minds of course, but we have lost our last 5 visits to out lovely neighbours, and have yet to win at St.Marys, we have only met 3 times in the Fa cup and have lost the lot!!

Ref Watch:

don't care as long it is not Kevin Bloody Friend!

Next Fixtures:

Stoke next week.

The last time I went to to a derby on their patch it was at the Dell and we won 2-0. Looking forward to a repeat.

I never knew our record against Scum was so bad? Didn't we stuff them when Redknapp was in charge of them? Anyway, thats all in the past - tomorrow is Ours!

Jamie Ashdown has also played in he derby. Debuts in these games are always dodgy (Tosic) remember that keeper called Chalkias the last time we were at the new dellhi.

Perhaps take it to a replay, we could do with the money, lol.

For many reasons I have chosen not to go this time. Having been to 5 out of the 6 away games against scum, I'll be home alone screaming the house down. I must admit recent events have taken a lot of wind out of my sails. I can't imagine life without Pompey, having given so much of my life to Pompey. I hate the scum with a passion, like so many I come from a generation where we below them for so long, & took the cr4p that came with it. I just wish we win & survive what comes in the courts.

Against poorer opposition, Utaka, Dindane and Piquionne are normally on fire. I just hope we don't have a reverse of the 2004 Fratton Park fixture - I fear our 'borrowed' players don't know what they're in for. If I leave St Mary's with any kind of voice left I will have failed the PFC. PUP.
