4th round time in the FA cup and Pompey welcome Sunderland to Fratton park to contest a place in the 5th.

The England hopeful will be looking to add to his notch at the Stadium of Light against Pompey, he and Jones have scored more between them than Pompey have in total in the League!

We're bound to win. There just wouldn't be a Pompey-size dose of bitter irony to go around if we didn't win. Probably 3-2, having been 2-1 down with 5 minutes to play. Then right as the final whistle blows, a press conference will be called. That would be Pompey.

I think we will win 1-0. as for playing them in the cup...we nearly did once in a semi final or final. we drew liverpool they drew Norwich i seem to recall, both from these other two semi finalist like ourselves were second division teams...a bit like 2008 really...

Volunteers wanted to help Portsmouth Football Club
Would all the Vital Portsmouth members who are free at 10 am this morning please report to Frogmore Road. You are needed to form a chain to pass the buckets of water from a house in Frogmore Road along the chain to pour on to the pitch. (Fratton Park has had its water cut off - something about bills from 1999 haven't been paid - but the club are optimistic that the sale of James could lead to the loan of some water before the end of the month possibly).
All those that turn out are promised a ticket for our next Division 2 game.

I'll be there, through decades of habit, though I am slowly losing the will to be there. I shall more importantly be taking my 13 year old daughter, for what will be her 4th Fratton Park game. All being FA Cup matches, the 2 depressing games last season & the depressing Coventry match. Why do I feel another depressing match is on the cards. Some may call it child cruelty!!!

At last something to smile about. Things certainly improved when Basinas got in. a great crowd moment when they announced Mullins was coming on & the boos seemed to change Avram's mind. Now time to take this positive result into our home game with West Ham. If we can sort the crap off the pitch we could just survive on it.

What a match - really enjoyed it and the atmosphere was great. Really getting behing the team. It may helped that we had seats right in the middle of the Fratton End, not far from the drums, as well. Still coming out of FP smiling! Bring on the scummers in the next round! (PS When's the match report coming on?)

Imagine my horror and disgust when right in the middle of my dinner party I discovered a SCUMMER sitting at my table. He had the bloody cheek to tell me that pompey were going down and Scummers were coming up. I told HIM that they were so far down, it would be a long time before we met them going the other way. I can assure you all he got the scrag end of everything to eat!
