Two 'crisis' sides meet today, I tell you what though, these big boys don't know the meaning of the word! Sat in 6th with only champions league qualification to worry about, luxury.
Pompey may well be up against an omnipotent force today, Carragher has had a few words with beardy about some divine intervention, hopefully Primus' chair is a bit nearer to the man though.
Pompey have the carrot of knowing that a win would drag us off the bottom for the first time since the summer at the expense of West Ham who don't play until Sunday, and we know the stat about who is bottom at Xmas goes down generally.
Pompey will have Boateng and James available again after illness, while Yootha Kaboul has finished his ban.
Avram will know doubt tinker with the side after wednesday's match, Piquionne may have done enough to hold his spot, but will it be Dindane or Kanu to partner him in what will surely be a more attacking side?
Steve Finnan looks favourite for the right-back spot ahead of Ben-Haim.
A goal midweek will hopefully be the catalyst for a rich vein of form from the Frenchman.
Carragher makes his 600th appearance for 'pool, while Torres will probably be taken out of cotton wool for this one.
Glen Johnson should be fit after a sore hamstring, he will no doubt get a very warm welcome after starring for us in recent years.
Still our player of the year, Hreidarsson will have to be on his toes for his trickery.
A 3-2 defeat last year saw Tony Adams depart, maybe this year its our turn?

A win today please lads, anyone predicting today is banned from suggesting otherwise, place you win predictions here.
