Pompey face another club who have been in the press for all the wrong reasons this week, for Pompey it is old hat, but Wigan have had the row with Fergie, and the court dealings ogf the lovely Marlon King to contend with.
Pompey enjoyed their midweek league sabatical, very much so, putting 4 past Stoke and moving on in the league cup, and hopefully taking on a bit more confidence to do so in the league.
The thing is though, will Paul Hart tinker with his tried and trusted formation for Premiership matches, or will he go a bit gung-ho and 4-4-2?
My money is on the former, but with goals flying in, in the cup competition, maybe he will fancy trying in it in the league.
Pompey have no new injury concerns, Smith, O'Hara and Boateng have shaken off their niggles, while John Utaka who has hardly figured of late sits this one out.
Piquionne may have forced his way into Hart's thinking, but would he drop Smith who has been one of our top performers of late, or even Dindane who he seems to rate higher than the Frenchman.
Missed a few sitters against Spurs and fired another blank against Stoke, with Piquionne notching a couple, his place must be under threat unless he starts to deliver.
Martinez has two absentees guaranteed, Maynor Figueroa has injured his knee and looks like having a lengthy spell on the sidelines, while King is just looking at a lengthy spell.
Jordi Gomez, one of the three amigos from Swansea may well step in for the honduran, while Scharner is struggling with Koumas waiting to take his place.
Perma-injured Kirkland is another really looking doubtful with a dislocated finger, Pollit is on standby.
May not of set the Premiership on fire yet, but I bet he has fond memories of Pompey after tormenting last season with Swansea in the cup.
Wigan did the double over us last season, at home it was a last minute winner from Heskey that did us in a match we dominated, time to turn the tables?

We thumped in 4 midweek, is that enough to start the ball rolling? Hedge a bet here.
Blackburn up there.
