Hull vs. Pompey

KC Stadium

Hull V Pompey

Pompey make the long trek North tomorrow to face a team in a similar situation, bottom three to be exact.
Pompey know that even 3 points is not enough to drag us out of the relegation vortex, but it may just be enough to get us off the bottom for the first time this season.

Vital Quotes:

Phil Brown has described the match as not must win for Hull, while Paul Hart has said it will be like war.
If this is their mentality, just maybe Pompey will go into the game a little hungrier for the points, the last thing we need right now is to get cast further adrift after playing a side that will no doubt be fighting with us all season for survival.

Hull Team News:

Jimmy Bullard is hankering for a full ninety minutes, he has recovered from his long term knee injury and is raring to to be let off the leash.
Anthony Gardner is another on the brink of a return, he has been out since the end of August after also damaging his knee.
Barmby should be fit after a slight calf injury, while Kilbane is fresh from his 100th appearance fot Ireland, so congratulations to him on his landmark.

Player to watch: Geovanni

The Brazilian was so nearly a Pompey player, but after a cameo at Man City he has settled into the fan's favourite role on Humberside.

Pompey Team News:

Pompey have one enforced change, Michael Brown will sit out the game after his red card last week, but this is at least countered by the return of O'Hara who will step straight back in.
Dindane will probably keep out Piquionne again, if has the right character he should be busting a gut to make up for last weeks horror misses.

Player to watch: Dindane

Boateng is our top man, but the Ivorian is due a big game now, if he can start converting a few chances Pompey can look upwards.

Match Facts & Stats

Neither side could could edge a win last season, with the encounter in the North being a goaless draw, can't see that this time!

Match Prediction:

Well up to now if you bet against Pompey every week you would be romping the predictions league, but what the outcome be this week? Hedge a guess here.

Next Fixtures:

Stoke in the cup and then another biggy in the shape of the unpredictable Wigan

We will be trying to ensure we don't lose.

lets hope for the lads that are travelling in the morning that we put a shift in and get a result. PUP

Need the 3 points I'm afraid; that dreadful 6 pointer status seemingly given to all our games is actually relevant this time.

Is it just because it's us that their best players/long term injuries are back for this tie?
pentonpompey
draw written all over it ... 1-1 perhaps.

We should WIN. I managed to get some colleagues interested in Pompey, and they are betting on us... So it is important for us to win for this cause, apart from the fact that we just need to climb up and start building up our morale.

We've been playing well and creating chances. Time to make it count!

Difference between Pompey and Hull? Pompey are playing better than their results suggest, Hull are playing poorly. My prediciton? You'll play badly for a change and come away with all three points. 1-2 Pompey

Ive have money on you guys (again) Hull are **** and to stay up and get anywhere near 38 points you have to win today otherwise you need to hit champions league form for the rest of the season, do the math.
