Wolfsburg v Pompey

Pompey take on the wolves tomorrow night, not the old gold ones, but a German outfit once only known in these parts as D'allesandro's parent club.

Vital Quotes:

Pompey know they have to equal or better Bragas effort tomorrow, if we don't it is all over, but we are backed by 2500 fans which could rise to 6500 if reports are accurate.

Wolfsburg Team News:

Wolfsburg are pretty handy at home, 6 wins out of a possible 7 is evidence enough, they need only a point tomorrow to qualify but how will they go about it?
Top scorer Grafite is absent with a head injury, Zaccardo may be drafted in to handle Crouch.
Playmaker Misimovich has noted Pompey need the win but has warned that they want to finish in style at home.

Player to watch: Misimovich

Was the star in Braga with an injury time winner and pops up with a few from midfield.

Pompey Team News:

Utaka and Kaboul have no chance of featuring, in fact neither have made the trip.
The good news though is that captain Sol could return, he has two full training sessions and could replace Pamarot in the centre.
Tony Adams has hinted at a start for Kranjcar but will be on the right or left?
Dacis is another hankering to start, his late goal on sunday will have done his chances no harm, likewisw Defoe who showed no rustiness either.
Kanu may get a start in place of Crouch who has had little chance for rest all season.

Player to watch: Defoe

Our little pocket goal-machine can enhance his reputation no end with a first goal in europe for Pompey

Match Facts & Stats

Not a lot to compare, Wolfsburg need a draw, we really need the win depending on other results.

Wolfsburg used to managed by Wolfgang Wolf. That's awesome. We need to find a manager called Pompey Pomp.

even though a draw might not neccessarily be the end of our tournament, we need to go out for the win. i want to see us go at wolfsburg, not sit back. we need to be tight at the back, and not give away an early free kicks like our last two away games...

as shocking as it sounds, cant we lose tonight and still go through, as long as heerenveen beat braga?

yes we can... and that is a situation I am thinking we COULD end up in... or we could end up out, as if we only draw, and braga win, we're out too!

Bl00dy shame we didn't have them at home, I think we would have beat them. Too many if & buts again.
