Rotherham - New York Stadium - 20th January

A point last weekend wasn't actually a bad one, even though Pompey held the lead. However, having lost at Bristol Rovers and drawn with S****horpe if a play off push is to remain on track into the second half of the season I think we could do with collecting a few wins so.

There wouldn't be a better time to start this than winning at Rotherham, who are themselves there or thereabouts for a top six place too.

Admittedly, a point at the New York Stadium - in the first ever meeting at the New York Stadium - shouldn't be frowned upon, but all three points could be crucial. A win and it could be enough to take Pompey back into sixth ahead of Charlton, if they aren't able to secure victory in their game. At the same time, Rotherham winning could take them above the Blues and Addicks into the play offs, so plenty to play for.

Pompey have happy memories of games at Rotherham, all being well we can create another one on Saturday - should we defend as we can and make the most of the chances we should be able to create I cannot see why three points shouldn't return to Fratton Park with us...but will this happen?

The Pompey season continued with a draw against Scunthorpe. Well, that has been and gone so we move forward and go again against Rotherham in, obviously in League One, on Saturday.

Rotherham - where he was in charge for a brief 39-day spell - were the last club for Kenny Jackett before Pompey. He's set for a return this afternoon in another tough game.

Losing on Saturday was bad enough, the fact this was an added time winner more so. The cherry on the cake was the fact Rotherham's goal came from ex-Pompey full back Joe Mattock.

Well, so much for my confidence... really thought we'd get something. Had we managed a point though perhaps it would have been a point more than we deserved?!

Nathan Thompson's performance was seen as the best one from a Pompey player against Rotherham in the defeat in South Yorkshire at the weekend.

Nathan Thompson's MotM win - a second in a row in the voting here - rounds off the Rotherham thread... well, unless you've got anything to add?

best thing about Rotherham, 4 pints for £8 and the pub could still afford to have legit Sky TV, and i got the last tandoori chicken baguette in Greggs.

Got what we deserved, we were never in it

Couldn't sleep so came down and just pottering about... I'm now really hungry after reading what you at Wiggy. Is it wrong to say I'm thirsty for a beer too after your four for eight quid deal! I'll have some of that

Think, from the sounds of things, we did indeed get what we deserved at the New York Stadium... nothing.
