'Pompey predictions league'

It was a good week in the Pompey Predictions League for the Chelsea game, with many of us correctly predicting a Jermain Defoe goal.

pompeygray was the highest points scorer this time with a mammoth 11 points, 2 points for the draw prediction, 2 points for the 1-1 draw prediction, 2 points for the Defoe goal prediction making 6 points. But as he was 100% spot on he picked up 5 bonus points to increase it to the 11 points.

There was however no change in the top 3 as steaming retained top spot for a 2nd game running, his 2 points taking him onto 50 points overall. pompeyrug retained 2nd for a 2nd game running, 2 points took his total to 48 points in total. Chix retains 3rd spot also for a 2nd game running, again 2 points from him moved him onto 46 overall.

If you missed out on predicting for the Chelsea game, as well as any others it is never too late - just start with your predictions for the next with Bolton away next weekend. So if you have not already made your predictions on this game with Bolton do it here.

My heart said a draw, so I'm claiming a moral victory over my head which thought we would lose.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

On this day in history...26th June

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 26th June.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.

Interest in Plymouth midfielder? Unfortunately not

Apparently, having stolen the League Two title from Plymouth, we'll not be taking the Pilgrims' best player, ex-Celtic midfielder Carey, currently out-of-contract at Home Park.
