'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Teams - United v Pompey

This is the United line up:

Edwin Van der Sar
Wes Brown
Rio Ferdinand
Nemanja Vidic
Patrice Evra
Paul Scholes
Michael Carrick
Ji-Sung Park
Cristiano Ronaldo
Wayne Rooney

Tomasz Kuszczak
Owen Hargreaves
John O'Shea
Carlos Tevez

Sol Campbell - back from injury, Sean Davis and Milan Baros - for his debut - all came in with Hermann Hreidarsson, Pedro Mendes and Dave Nugent making way, all bar Nugent to the bench - but he is injured anyway. This bench was looking threadbare!

So we line up like this:

David James
Glen Johnson
Sol Campbell
Sylvain Distin
Noe Pamarot
Sean Davis
Lassana Diarra
Niko Kranjcar
Milan Baros

Hermann Hreidarsson
Arnold Mvuemba
Richard Hughes
Pedro Mendes

lets see how milan does, glad to see davis and sol featuring, if this was anywhere else, I would be hopefully.
not much on the bench to change the game if needed is there... come on pompey, im sticking with my 3-2 tho!
is that 4-4-2?!?!? thats a bit of a gamble isnt it!
and i also thought hughie would start...
na, davis should do a better job, I hope he plays class, as I want a lineup with him, sulley and lassana in.
im not watching the box yet but i'd still think this is possbily 4-5-1, with benji on the right and lauren adding strength in the midfield?
true davis will do better - its just i expected us to go 4-5-1, without baros and with hughes... (althouh i also expected mendes to start as he has ben in great form!)
im surprised that pedro was left out tbh tho...
same ere, but I think harry wanted milan to start, and last week agaisnt plymouth, when davis came on, he tightned things up great.
i guess it could be 4-5-1, and lauren could shadow ronaldo...or just add to further depth in that area...
but other than a slightly more attacking midfield, we dont have many players thatm could be our "super-subs" do we!
...seeing as the conversation here has died down a litle...this isnt srtictly relavant, but in the poll, is it assuming muntari and diara will be the definete starters?
yep, thats the thinking mate.
...right on que, my pc crashes...whats the game like?
2-0 down mate!
ahh, ****************** not good
the 1st was far too easy, we lost it cheaply in midfield, the 2nd was a crackin' free kick - top class...
2?!?!? my pc is still saying 1!
nope its 2 mate, im watching it on the box...
2 goals for ronaldo...i was there predicing he would have a bad game!
its not looking good so far - but there is a long way to go...
plan b in action, and imediatly we are much better!
were giving the ball away far too easily tho, and giving away needless free kicks - ronaldo has another chance now...
and he would have scored, but jamo saved...
quiet in here tonight fellas - i guess everyone is at the pub or at the club having their curry night...
seems like it! but the pompey fans seem to be making quite a bit of noise...
we always do... i just got a text from pompey4me who is at the victory suite at fratton having the curry night.
oh yes...and if your commentry is the same as mine, then they are hardly giving a fair indication fo the game! pompey are holding united well, and ronado has gone very quiet - at last - yet they are saying he is causing teror every time he gets the ball!
and "they [pompey] just can not hold onto it", as they show statistics of equal possesion!
we dont look like getting back into the game tho mate - we are going long quite often, and as i say just keep giving it away cheaply... the bench doesnt look to have much to change things either does it...
we havnt settled into the first 30 minutes of the last 2 games. rooney has shown why he doesnt deserve a place in the england team, and i wouldnt be surprised if we could grab a ball back
half time cant come soon enough - in all honesty we may as well have not even bothered so far... hopefully they will get a roasting at half time and come out and at least show some bottle in the 2nd half...
man u will probabbly settle for the 2 goal advantage, so if harry can get the players going, and we can grab an early goal, wewill be right back in it. it is still possible to come back from 2-0 down...
Thankfully it's only 2. Damage limitation exercise. Can't see why a donkey like Lauren is playing, I'd hope we would have got rid this month. Rather Mendes there. Otherwise it's sadly all going to the usual script. they score early & we lose.
p4me's half time text to me said 'imo carrying to many. saw davis and lauren on the teamsheet but not on pitch! baros rusty poor as a team'... he is however enjoying the curry night 'good value here tho' luv a vital night here one day!'...
lauren and distin - must be injured? - off at h/t mvuemba and hermann on...
and UKTony said 'at least the beer and curry are good'...
not a bad training exercise second half, just containing them, slowing down there play, although we could have tried running at there defence. was it a case of "weve lost this one, lets concentrate on chelsea now", or were the players just being lazy? i hope it was the former.
oh, and also, take over time?
Yeah rug get a topic on that going. Please. :)
sorry, i would write an article, but im busy thinking up ways to become pompeys next no. 9, as we clearly need a new, actually, im trying to catch up on a lot of work...but its not good news!
