Another 'not going to happen' link!

Another 'not going to happen' link!

Here is another for the 'it is never going to happen' school of paper links...

The Daily Mail are saying that Man City are to make a 'surprise' £5m offer for Benjani, and what is more the papers suggestion is that 'Portsmouth are reluctant to sell but could be persuaded if they can find a replacement in time' - yea right, of course we would sell the fella!

Even if we would, we sure as hell would not sell him for as little as £5m - particularly as Juventus are already 'reported' to be prepared to pay more than this, and we would not sell to them.

Benjani has made it more than clear that he intents to see out his 'best days' with Pompey, before returning to Zimbabwe to end his career - and I for one would be more than happy to see him here until he does decide it is time for him to go home.

a fellas that is happy to play on for hte club while carrying an injury - 'I'm happy to do that for this club' - should never be sold, and if he is then someone needs shooting... i might not doubt that city could be interested, but it just winds me up when the papers say things like 'Portsmouth are reluctant to sell but could be persuaded if they can find a replacement in time' - clearly whoever wrote this doesnt visit pompey all that often, doesnt watch us, and doesnt know anything about us as we would be more than 'reluctant' to let him go...

just to reiterate rugs point, we rejected, was it £10m from juve for benjani. so yeah, of course we would be tempted to accept a £5m bid.

tbh i dont think that juve offeredc the £10m that was rumoured - yep, they might have been interested but i dont reckon an offer was ever made...

3rd top scorer in the prem. loved by the fans (scoring or not) all for £5mil.... this smacks of desperation both by sven and also the mail! and tempted if we could find a replacement, we could not even get a champ striker for £5mil
