Dario Leaves Without a Silva Lining

Dario Silva has today left the club by mutual consent. That basically means Dario said if you want to get rid of me your have to give me this amount of money and the club agree.

Dario joined in the summer on a free transfer. This in a way is quite funny because we have paid him more to leave, than we did to come!

> HOW MUCH DID HE GET <

Well this hasn’t and want get revealed. If my memory is correct he was on a two year contract. I expect his wages were around 7,000 pound a week, so you’re looking at 200,000 pound compensation deal.

> CORRECT DECISION? <

No I don’t think it was. He always gave everything for the cause and even if we had got relegated I think he would have been a fantastic Championship player. If we did go down Lua would probably go as well as Benjani.

> WHAT DID HE DO FOR US? <

Not a lot really. He tried hard but only got three goals in fifteen games. In all fairness to the lad most of those fifteen games were under Perrin, who played him upfront on his own. He scored against Charlton and Sunderland. His third was in his final game against Ipswich, in the cup.

I'm gutted. He as worked as hard as anybody else in a blue shirt this season. He had 2 dodgy games but at all other times has worked his butt off!
