Tiago move given the green light?
Other 'reports' today are claiming that we could really be 'splashing the cash' when we appeared to have little, or none this time last week...
It is now 'claimed' that not only will Harry Redknapp be asking for big money to try and see if he can finally sign his long term target Jermain Defoe but he is also interested in making a move for Juventus midfielder Tiago.
Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that he will let him leave if he can find a replacement and the reports are claiming that we are looking at making an £8m offer for the former Chelsea man.
Yep, another quality footballer - and of course not one that many would say no too but the chances of us really being ready to buy two players for a combined fee of somewhere between £15m-£20m is not that likely... is it?
One player that does not look like he will be joining though is Fred? We have had an offer accepted but he only seems interested in either Spurs or PSG.

We do not have this sort of money, anyone coming in will be a short term fix until the African players come back.
Even Routledge is priced at 3.5 million at the moment.
Pompey have splashed the cash and it will be loans or cheap options for the rest of the season.
We need to get real and realise Championship players, frees, out of contract or loans are the best that Harry will be able to do.

Yeah, Harry said today that he never even put a bid in for Fred, so in all honesty it dosnt look like we got much dough!..shame, but, as we all know this is one of twitchies strengths!

thats the view ive had mate - i think we might have abit of cash, but we will be lucky if we can spend anywhere near £8m on one player, let alone £15m-£20m on 2 as todays reports suggest...

he did say he wanted to get in 1 or 2 before the weekend...i still got a suspicion hes gonna get Boating in, if he was the right price, he wouldnt be a bad signing!

Rumours flying everywhere but no money. Like to see it but I doubt it. Fred to decide between London, Paris and Pompey?? I'll say it before Chix get's here but Wait and see.. but it is fun speculating.

the pompey pages reckon we are close to signing boateng... freddie price boateng from spurs - now they have either got the 'speculation' surrounding boateng completely wrong or there could be some truth... which i doubt as boateng is only in his late teens i think - not a typical 'arry loan signing is he...

Kevin Prince B is in the Spurs first team so it's unlikely to be him. The other one is no better than we've already got. The midfield equivelant of Jimmy Traore. No point.

Tiago's a good player but he's lightweight for the Premiership. I so happen to be a Juve supporter as well as Pompey (still my no.1 tho) and I haven't been impressed with Tiago at all. Defoe will definately not be one of ours either.

...i dont think he is good enogh (i may be wrong, i havnt seen him play much) - but he hasnt got a great scorring record, and he isnt that quick, skillfill, or a good tackler. although i could be wrong, it doesnt seem like a great improvement.

im just cynical about this sort of thing really, Defoe is not at all the player to be the lone (nor Loan) striker and Tiago from what i know is not really a Diop/ Muntari replacement, Pedro can pass the ball anyway so i think he is not likely to come here, well not for £8M. I like the Prince Boateng rumour but as E_T_P says he is a first team regular with spurs and not likely to come.

we say hes going to boro, boro say he is going to PSG, psg say he is going to spurs, and spurs say...well, they dont...but why would he want to go there when they alread have 4 strikers???

Tiago an option ? .. Umm could be interesting to see how this develops as a proposition .. I don't agree with the fact that we have no money that's just a smoke screen Harry will spend before the week is out I'm sure..Tiago as stillthewizz says could be a bit lightweight but his he creative... umm not sure on this on..

Both would be excellent signings i think, especially defoe. Tiago would be a much better player this time around.
