What on earth was that? A very depleted team with no effort or desire. I knew that if GJ wasn't playing we wouldn't create any chances. I'm not even going to talk about Chicken McNugget. We need players urgently.

Exactly Paul we created chances and didn't take them. Sunderland wanted it more than we did too. Kranjcar tried to create but to no avail. Why was Msndes sitting in front of the back four? Surely that has to be Hughes' role. Yes we need new signings quick and do we give Nugent another chance against Derby? I always have a bad feeling about going to Sunderland and now I know why.

I am a bit tired of seing people complaining about Kanu as if he was a parasite. So you really believe a manager who has 30 years of experience will have a player on the field just for the seek of it? Kanu and thats my personal opinion is the player who can connect the middfield to the attack, and If I am not mistaken a lots of goals this season have been set up by the man.

Benji looked off colour, missing his mates. Hard work ain't enough without class, time to wake up Nugent & smell the coffee. No other talent in midfield to help Niko. Difficult to bring 4-5 non regulars & expect us not to notice. A good time to play us, no doubt Derby can't wait.

yes bongo, as the 2nd striker, so perhaps you also see the same problem with the formation then? If we play Kanu, it cant be in a 4-5-1. And the ball HAS to be played in to his feet, not resorting to long ball as has been in evidence lately.

Welcome to the site, not seen you on here before.. i was gonna respond to your earlier 'Fed up with Kanu branded a parasite' quote but time passed and I never had the chance to do so.Whether it's 451 or 442 Kanu to me has been a waste of a shirt for for about over a year now.. It's no secret that I think the guy is well past his sell by date and a key reason our scoring rate at home is so poor.. I've nothing against the guy personally it's just that when he plays Pompey resort to hoffing the ball forward - If it reaches Kanu he can (admitedly) hold it up and (sometimes) play a world class pass to put somebody into space but it's all too inconsitent and sporadic .. as for him being responsible for the majority of goals this season.. I'm not so sure and as for being the top scorer last season.. well yep he was but how many goals did he score after xmas? (he just ran out of steam) Of course I'll always get behind the fella when he wearing a Pompey shirt and of course Harry picks the side .. but the strike force at the club at the minute (including Benjani) is just not good enough... Hey.. I've prattled on long enough and I know we'll not see eye to eye on this but as one who complained about Kanu earlier in this thread I just wanted a right of reply to your comment... No doubt our paths will cross on the site again and I look forward to that .. You seem about as passionate about Pompey as I am.. In fact that goes for the majority of people the site... in a 4-4-2 situation, with kanu putting some effort in, then yes, he can potentiall be one of our best players. his controll of the ball, range of passing, and distribution are excellent. unfortunatly, his concentration is apalling - and his will to work equally bad. at the beggining and end of last season, he was a truly outstanding player - but for the vast majority of it, he couldnt care less. the same goes for this season - against blackburn, it was his magic that one us the match - but then in other, more recent games, he has looked out of place, and barely touched the ball. whatevr happens though, we must respect harrys decision.

Totally right rug. Kanu would be best used in a free role - to create havoc where he sees fit. He is certainly clever enough to do that.
