A Black Cats point of view

A Black Cats point of view

What made you support Sunderland mate?
There the best team in the northeast of England and my dad supports them.

Are you happy with how your season is going so far?
It could be better we could have more points in the bag. However I am pleased to be watching premiership football and I just hope I'm watching it next season.

Roy Keane did a fantastic job taking you from the foot to the top of the Championship last season, it is a bit more difficult this season but how is the job he is doing being portrayed with the natives?
I think Keane is doing a steady job and think the board will give him plenty of time to get it right (unlike our unwashed neighbours up the road). Keane did a great job last season to turn the club around and he is fast turning into a legend on Wearside.

How do you rate the signings that he made last summer?
I think Keane has had about fifty percent success rate with his summer signings with Richardson and Jones been the hits and Gordon and Halford the misses.

Will he need more in January - and will he get them?
We desperately need to strengthen and apparently Keane has a 20 million war chest.

Who is the Sunderland danger men that Pompey should watch?
Kieran Richardson and Kenwyne Jones are our only players with any real quality if both of them are on song you might be in trouble.

How do you reckon Sunderland will go this season?
Stay up hopefully although I think this will depend on how well Keane buy's in the transfer window.

What about Pompey?
I think Pompey will qualify for Europe and they might even sneak in to the champions league places.

If you could take any Pompey player from our squad and put him in yours, who would it be and why?
Sol Campbell because he is an experienced quality defender and our defence leaves a lot to be desired.

Go on - who is going to win, Sunderland or Pompey?
Sunderland of course 2-1.

cheers kev - thanks for this, you said sorry for the late answers - but thanks for doing them... i clearly hope that you are wrong about the 2-1 scoreline! i feel you might feel a bit of a pompey backlash for what has happened the past few days...

Yeah nice one Kev - Which one are you in the photo ?? I'm not sure it's Solid you need to be wary of our our day we've a lot of players that can hurt yo.. but then again you've got that scummer Jones who, as much as it pains me to say it, is a pretty good player.. Distin will have to be on his toes if we are to stop him.. Good luck but I think, given the events of the last few days, Pompey just might be bouyed up a little more than usual .. and if you add that to our away record you could be in for a tough ride.. Anyway good luck and let's hope for a good game..

yea i put something similar on their site last night Chix, i am really surprised given their recent defensive errors they didn't put Benji as the on to watch. I am also of the opinion that teams now think we are a spent force because 4 have gone to the Africa cup it. I am hoping that having carryied Kanu and Utaka for the last month or so having 11 energised outfield players will surprise a a few teams.

Are you scummers in disguise. Should a great game with HR still in place. That should blow massive confidence thru the players. Will obviously be interesting without the African 4? Benji wide right, Nuge up front with a 4 5 1 formation & 3pts to bring home to the gorgeous south.

Don't think the Africans missing will be that influential if Davis is fit and Mendes is on form, only thing missing will be a wide right outlet, Lauren is a full-back not midfielder, now Kranjcar right and Taylor left could be interesting....

harry has been building up this time as a period when we will be weak. it i what he does - tells everyone we will be weak, forces tjem to come to us - and then hammers them. sure, we lost 4 players - 2 of which have been influential - but the other 2 have had a negative impact on games (well, worse than our other players would have been) so it balances out. expect a very tough game - we will look to hit on the break, but will be doing this woth vengnce. oh, and i think there could be some strong support for harry redknapp too.

Poor result and performance from pompey, far better than that, just wonder if the events of the pitch had effect?

Pompey at Crawley called off

Pompey WILL NOT climb into the top 3 this weekend - whatever Carlisle do - as the game at Crawley has been called off.

Lalkovic heads to Ross County

In a somewhat odd move - admittedly he's not been involved that much - Pompey's former Chelsea & Walsall winger Milan Lalkovic has joined Ross County on loan.

Crawley in doubt

Pompey have the chance to move into the automatic promotion places - if we beat Crawley and Carlisle fail to win - but the elements might rob us of this possibility?
