'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Muntari a Valencia target?

'We seem to have missed out on Mohamed Sissoko but Muntari plays a similar role and he would be excellent,' Koeman told The Sun.
This seems a blatant attempt to unsettle a player while he is away at the African Nations cup, Pompey are miles away and this sort of comment could turn his head, but Koeman has shown he doesn't always play fair when he was still on the pitch, so should come as no surprise.
For the record Muntari cost £7M, so his price should certainly be a lot higher if he were to up sticks.

In other circles this would surely be seen as tapping up, Koeman should shut his mouth

will he go? I hope not for your sakes!
merlin
will he go? no. he wants to make it big in the premier league. going to valencia will not help hisdream, and will not help our dream. our manager has just shown him that he thinks we can make it (very!) big - he addmited to supporting pompey all year last season whist he was at udinese - no, he wont be mooving!
pompeycarpet
If he went he wouldn't be a huge loss. We haven't seen the best from him yet. Either way it's a sound buy by Harry because we'll get at least £10m from his sale.
stillthewhizz
had 'arry gone he might have now that he has not he wont go nowhere! man those beers have felt good tonight, all the sweeter than 'arry has stayed!
pompeyrug
rug - that is exactly what i saon the forum...almost word for word ;-)... i guess it show we agree! we would have been in a right old mess had harry gone. having spent ages telling players we are just as big as newcastle, if he then left to go there...
pompeycarpet
I read this one earlier and laughed. Now HR is staying I am certain his players will stay. Muntari is one of those players and is going nowhere and yes Koeman is tapping up without a doubt. Naughty Dutchman!!
eastneydave
Koeman is the knobhead who told Fanfan to not go to Pompey as they were too small a club, we should tell him to go and get stuffed.
Owenspompey
Yep he can shove his opinions up where the sun don't shine. T055er.
storagematt
i seem to remember spitting Koeman put off jefferson fanfan from coming to pompey as we weren't what was it ... oh yes "ambitious enough" well we should make a formal complaint to uefa or just stir things up a bit, hasn't he got a striker we would like
russellm
thats right russ, zigic was a very expensive bust for that squad, still a good player tho. As for Muntari he a quality young player and his name will be constantly brought up in the rumor mill, he will leave the club at some point (for big money I hope, as well as Kranjcar) but I cant see that happening for at least another year and a half. This team is just getting started!!
whitestones
2 goals in the goal of the month competition for muntari...not bad!
pompeycarpet
Koeman can day all he wants.. Sulley made it oerfectly clear that it was the English League he wanted to play in .. He also said he was a Pompey fan.. He might move on one day but not yet ..he's still settlng in ..I think we'll get the rest of this nad hopefuly all the next season before the big 4 come sniffing with some serious bucks.. Munners looks like a shrewd buy by Harry..
Chix
Let's noy forget Koeman cheated Eng land out of the World Cup qualifaction in 1994. Cnut.
storagematt
..it really is silly seaon isnt it? harry to newcastle, muntari to valenci? what next... distin to scum???
pompeycarpet
carpet - that was stange that we said basically the same thing, the beers made my post alittle jumbled, but you got the point.. using the words 'hate' are quite strong but i am close to 'hating' ronald koeman tbh, i know i very much dislike the fella... yep, good idea russ lets launch a complaint to fifa and see if they can back us as a club with 'no ambition' is having its player here basically tapped up... either way tho, sulley wont leave for spain.
pompeyrug
Have seen a bit of him this season and does look a very good player, would be a big loss.
will it ever happen
