Redknapp rejects Toon job!

Redknapp rejects Toon job!

Just after publishing the 'mixed messages article' I found on setanta sports that they claim Harry Redknapp and Peter Storrie have told the media that he is staying with Pompey!

I will not quote the whole article, as for one I cannot do that and for two the main part of what that site is claiming is all we need to know...

'The duo explained that Redknapp's decision was based on his dedication to completing his project at the club.

'Redknapp also confirmed that Newcastle had made an approach for his services, the first time that any official contact had been corroborated'

The BBC, sky sports and so on are also reporting that he is staying too now...

There is however nothing on the Pompey Site so until this is the case we will not know for sure - to coin the phrase 'more to follow'...

Does this make HR a legend at the Park? I believe it does in my eyes and more than makes up for the mistake he made three years ago in going down the road. He will be popular at Sunderland tomorrow by the whole ground!!

I'm actually lost for words ........ Brilliant... all those doubters.. apparently he turned down a wonderful offer to stay .... Nobody can ever doubt his loyality again.. and I think he may now even be 'slightly' forgiven for his scummer past ;) Nice one Harry ... We our in your hands... Take us into Europe...

I also believe that HR will have been told there is money to spend in the window. Raise a glass and move on now. Lets get three points tomorrow and head on for Europe. Watch the Fred situation as well.

Portsmouth reportedly gave Redknapp until lunchtime on Saturday to make a decision, and he has opted to stay. Hooray for Harry...

once there is official confirmation from pompey i will produce and article, also commenting on strong opinions that we might have shared - which i found acceptable given the fact that nothing was being said, so silence seemed to say it all... im delighted by this news, and cannoy believe it, incredible!

tbh i didnt hold it against him that he went to scum - and i have often said this, but those that did/do must surely forgive this now? signings to follow in the next couple of days anyone...

if the BBC says it, thats good enough for me - they dont publish speculation! Harry is clearly commited to the pompey cause - legend.

I lose fifty quid on a bet I had,and I am "happy" with that.To see him stay at your club and not go running to "the bigger club".The man that everyone likes and respects anyway, has just gone up in my estimations.Well done Portsmouth for keeping him,and as fans, you lot must be excited about whats around the corner, because he hasn't stayed for nothing.

Well done Harry, i must admit i thought that you might go, but there is such thing as loyalty and Harry has been quite remarkable. He is a special man and i am glad he is staying, we could never have replaced him. Lets give him the praise he deserves at Sunderland tomorrow and show how much we love him.
