At least Fred could sign?

So, Harry Redknapp 'might' be leaving but according to reports on sky sports Pompey are one of 3 clubs that have had bids accepted for Lyon's Brazilian striker Fred.

Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas has apparently confirmed that Pompey, Spurs and PSG have all placed bids, with all three being accepted, Pompey - £9m, Spurs - £11m and PSG - £7.5m so it is now up to the player to decide where he wants to go: 'we have accepted these offers. It's up to Fred to decide'.

What a fantastic signing he would be if we could get him.

This is interesting isn't it fellas, it at least proves - providing of course it is true, sorry I've become cynical - that we do have some money to spend, and another transfer record amount at that so even if he does not sign for us, we should not be too disheartened, quite the opposite.

If such a bid has come in recently it would be strange that it had if Redknapp was leaving though... maybe, just maybe the thought that he could be trying to get some more money for new signings from Sacha Gaydamak could have legs afterall?

not surprised that other teams are after him because he is a good player, and the teams that have bid for him frankly make the situation only better. Spurs already have 4 good strikers, so it would be silly for fred to want to go there and besides they are struggling in the league and most likely wont make it to europe next year. PSG are currently 16th in the french league and are constant underachievers. If I was him (and unbiased) the pompey option would still look the best out of the 3

So we do have money to spend eh and 9m at that on one player. and a quality player .. Have you seen his goalscoring record.. Its amazing 124 goals in 207 games .. and the bid has been accepted.. London, Paris, Pompey.. No brainer.. He must be on his way... Come on Fred come and be a Legend in blue...

only one reason why he might nit want to come..but that is hopefully irrelvant unhelpful speculation. We are the best of the 3 optians, i only hope he cars about football, not money.

'arry is a big draw no doubt, but no one players/manager is bigger than a club, so i hope that he can see the potential of our club and the fact that he will most likely be a certain starter week in week out, something that might not happen at spurs? psg are a fantastic club, but he might fancy a change of country - come here fred, you will be an instant hero - the no.9 weve been looking for!

Cmon be serious, would you join a club that is not sure who will be the manager tomorrow. Why sign for Harry, if Harry could be leaving. Thats a no brainer.

has anybody thought about a late Newcastle bid, as i have said before harry had his chat weeks ago and if he wanted him at pompey why wouldn't he want him at toon. Owen wants away and toon are already inquiring about Defoe

owen wants 'arry tho doesnt he - he will stay if he takes over... there is already talk that 'arry - even tho he isnt their manager yet? and according to storrie 'no appraoch has been made' - want defoe, chimbonda and sol... i just want to know the score as its driving me made now, and every hour that passes is an hour less we have to try and sign the players we need!

if he goes could we not striker an agreement where he couldnt approach our players until the summer? i know business doesnt work like that but if 'arry came back to do this to us that would really, really harm his reputation... some months down the line people might be 'alittle' more forgiving...

Its a great signing, not that it will happen. He's a top top player never likely to slum it at our gaffe.

as a place to live in england, there is none better than th south - hampshire, surrey, london - pompey is no slum! Harry is staying - which shows just how commited he is to our cause, and a manager so commited to a football club that he will trun a big money move elsewhere - what bigger draw can there be to a club, particually if that man is widely regarded as one of the best in the buisness?

He is the best in the business and he belongs to us, i would not be suprised if we have a couple of new players by next week as well. Thanks Harry, i will be chanting your name at Sunderland tomorrow.
