HR in 'provisional talks' with Toon?

You never quite know what is, and what isn't true but 'reports' are beginning to filter through that Harry Redknapp has held 'provisional talks' with Newcastle over the vacant managers job?

He is the bookies favourite and although we do not want him to go, the club do not want him to go and on the whole we feel he will not go reports are now saying that he has held these talks with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley.

As I say you do not know what to and what not to believe, so all we can do is wait and see what happens...

My brother has just sent me a text and said that there is a press conference on sky sports at 12 noon though?

maybe im wrong but his silence seems to be speaking a thousand words to me... i think he's off fellas, why he would want to i dont know, but my cousin sumed it up perfectly with what he just said in his text 'no one is bigger than the club, and as 'arry always says if someone isnt happy here then let them go'... again as he said - and i agree - we need this sorted sooner rather than later, it cannot drag on, and give the job to admas 'if' he goes.

it was a typical 'arry thing wasnt it, saying he was going to do a press conference - at pompey jbaker - then refuse to do it... when i heard it was at pompey i thought 'yep, he's staying', now that he has refused to go it and 'apparently close friends of his' have said he is going to talk to them i think he is off... i cant see how he cant take the job if he talks to them?

Lets look at the positive things if HR leaves. Taylor will stay, Nugent will play and in future I will be able to understand our managers press statements.

Theres an article now on Sky website - Harry is saying no-one has been in contact from Newcastle - he also says he wouldn't go anywhere 'just for the money'. He doesn't actually say he wouldn't go to Newcastle. And we all remember him saying 'no I'm not going down the road'.

im gutted, i really am... this is - to use 'arry's phrase from yesterday - 'hypothetical' i must stress this! but lets say 'he is' talking to, or will talk to newcastle how could he not take the job? if he doesnt take the job how could he then return to his job here having spoken to them? by talking to them he would have made the statement that he is 'willing' to leave, so how could he return having done this if he doesnt like what is on the table... plenty of people still havent forgiven him for before, if this 'hypothetical scenario' plays out i feel even more will find it hard to back him now...

I think Harry will go If he does then i want to say thanks for the past few years, it has been the best few years i've known as a pompey fan. I am a pompey fan and Harry is manager of my team and so while he is here he has my support, once he's gone i'll get behind the next man Play up Pompey

The silence is deafening & I'm bracing myself for the worse. HR will want to talk to NUFC why wouldn't he. If we oppose that we may force his hand & he will resign. Be brave chaps & tracy.

maybe he IS going up to newcastle to discuss terms...for bringing owen down to us? i really dread hrry leving, and will support him completly if he stays, but if he does leave, i would be less than impressed by him...as a person.

I've been following this all day long, and I can honestly say I do not know which way it will go, money can get you almost anything you want and Ashley is used to getting that. One thing I am sure of though, IF he walks, the expectation levels are higher at Newcastle than here, if he doesn't turn it around sharpish he will be out of work for the last time.

THE TRUTH- possibly. 1. He is off to a great club with massive potential. who could not find that a savoury prospect. 2. Its a rouse to get more money to spend out of Sascha. 3. Another rouse to put the scent off a Defoe signing. 4. Another rouse because Sandra and Harry are not moving North. I cant make my mind up on this one about what i think HR will do. But As long as we dont get McClaren in as a replacement..that will be either Tony Adams or a well known Isreali

It hard to keep up with what's been posted so if I repeat something sorry fellas.. but I heard on Tlksport about 4 ish that the reason he cancelled the press conference was nothing to do with Newcastle it was to keep a pre-arranged appointment with a player he's trying to sign... whether true or not is anybodys guess .. butit could be right..

true, i heard that too chix - but the current climate of specualtion suggests that could just as likely be a smokescreen for other talks...it is a problem that we have at the moment - any other time, and we would probably be pleased he was talking to players, but now we are worried he coould be talking to more than just players...
