Hughes could return this weekend?

Hughes could return this weekend?

Moving away from the Harry Redknapp talk for a while, it is time to try and turn our attentions back to the playing matters... for the time being anyway!

Richard Hughes came back in for the Boxing Day game with Arsenal - and did a fantastic job - then kept his place against Boro and Reading, before being forced off in that game with an injury - but he could return in time to face Sunderland this weekend.

A hip injury forced Hughes off against Reading, with him then having to miss last weekends FA cup 3rd round with Ipswich as a result, but it is hoped that he will be fit and available to face Sunderland on Sunday - if you have not already made your predictions in the Pompey predictions league on this match do it here.

With numbers low, we need all the players we can so if he can return it will be a big bonus for us, but it is also something I would like to see as he has performed well in the games he has played in, so deserves more chance to show what he can do.

I fear the worse. The pilot of the plane is about to jump with the only parachute. Heaven help us.

If the press conference is true, then I think it's game over

whatever the article is about its bound to go off onto a harry redknapp view isnt it... typical 'arry, refusing to do the press conference - as said i think he's off... good news about hughesie possibly returning against sunderland tho!

I'm with Tony ans Carpet... Harry is big news obviously and we've a game to win on Sunday - Hughesie did well in the games he played and if fir should come back in to give us a bit of steel in midfield .. We will need to cut of the supply to Kenwyne Jones if we are to win this one.. Hughes is the man for the job..

Hughsie gives us the bite we will need in midfield especially against a team that are struggling, hopefully Sean and Pedro will be there with him.

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
