Kranjcar not interested in moving on

Niko Kranjcar has told The News that he has no interest in leaving Pompey this month or in the immediate future: 'I'm happy here, I'm not even thinking about bigger clubs.

'I'm thinking about playing as well as possible for Portsmouth in every game.

'I've had highs and lows. Now I want to enjoy myself and stay on a high for as long as possible.

'I'm not thinking about other clubs or people and what they think of me'.

To be honest I did not even know of any talk linking him with a move away from Pompey - so this is news to me, however it is still good to hear.

The better he performs the more likely the inevitable 'links' with a move away will grow, but so long as he is happy and playing regular football here he has no reason to move on. For us to continue to grow - as hard as it can be to resist big money offers and for players to reject big clubs when they come calling - keeping players such as Kranjcar is vital.

He may have gone a little 'quiet' recently but he has played a big part in our season so far and has really started living up to his billing when he arrived, which most of us always knew and believed would be the case anyway.

Just what you would expect him to say. He probably believes it too but if a big club came knocking of course he would be stupid not to consider it. Having said all that I have always been a Krunchie lover and hope he stays for years to come.

Its all news to me, who is supposedly after him. Is it RH playing games again?

This worries me, as soon as a player says they don't want to move on, the next thing you know is that they're off.

random commen by him! maybe its his way of saying "i dont want to elave - but theyre forcing me out" or maybe its just an honest guy reasuring fans that he isnt mooving...

its strange that this has been said - as i havent heard of any interest from anyone... not a single bit of rumour or speculation. maybe he is just trying to cheer everyone up at the lack of arrivals...

its a bit random, noones mentioned him leaving, but that said we need him here for the next 5 years at least, he is the way forward

dont think so with harry. he is nearing the end of his career, and has built a team at pompey. if he doesnt want to just go out as another "flop" manager that could never make it big time, now is his chance. he wont want to have to start all over again, at a club with a history of failure, with un-forgiving fans, and a sence they are better than they truly are. sorry, was that a bit of a rant?

he would be given plenty of cahs to spend tho wouldnt he... still, cant see him leaving pompey again - well not for another side anyway, once bitten twice shy and all that...

like i say, at his age, i think he has the squad around him that he likes. Pompey clearly have a vision that they are putting forward, Newcastle have one, that involves getting a new manager once a year, and hoping that that will solve there problems. obviosuly, it wont - butits nice thinking...dont see him leaving...

I hope for your sake he stays, but my gut instinct was him and it looks like the bookies have took a lot more money than my 50 quid.

i wish i had 50 quid to place on a bet mate, fancy lending us a tenner :-) vital pompey has slipped below arsenal and wednesday now, but were still having a storming, pushing on for 4000pts combined already and that is in 10 days... if we can keep this up we will smash our record - from last month - potentially almost doubling that and going into 5 figures... its been a crackin' month for the vital football network full stop!

sweetleftfoot must be pretty sure to 'waste' 50quid on a bet like this, especially hours afetr big sam was sacked! and it doesnt look like big sam was right to leave bolton, both him and sammy lee are now unemployed. and remember the last time the bookies fancied harry for a job?

yes i do remember what happened... 'arry should be expecting a knock on his door at 6 in the morning then :-) that'll kill his chances of this job too...

Kranjcar probably had an interview date set with the news a couple of weeks ago,, being that it is January the reporter probably asked him the question of whether he was looking for a move .. Niko said no I'm happy here for the time being thanks... and that's that I don't think there's any more to it..

...today there are 'reports' that arsenal want him for 12m... how 'convienient' that a certain website happens to come up with this after what was said. yep, agree mate that is probably exactly what the case was and is.

Well no doubt he will move on at some stage, but I expect a very sale price, especially if he has a great euro 2008.

...which i expect. anyway, he wont be mooving at least untill the summer - when anythything can happen (even gary oneil can leave!) - but i doubt that too. unless a top 4 club come in, i dont see any of our current first team wanting a move. oh, and on current form, i dont see many people wanting a move to livepool either!

The only place Harry will go from Pompey Storage is retirement.. He ain't gonna move from Sandbanks and he was ever going to consider it he would have gone when Spurs offered him.. No (luckily) as much as I moan about the old sod, he's a diamond and more importanlty, happy at being 'our' diamond
