Pompey cut FA cup ticket prices

Pompey have cut the ticket prices for the FA cup 4th round game with Plymouth, which is taking place at Fratton Park on Saturday 26th January - and what is more it is a 3pm kick off too!

Tickets will cost £5 for kids, £15 for seniors and £25 for adults - so a fair bit cheaper than usual and this makes the fact that I will be going - along with plymouth graham, Geoff, my brother and possibly my sister-in-law - all the more enjoyable as we can also save a few quid...

Plymouth have taken up their full allocation of 3,200 tickets in the Milton End, so no home fans - should we have wished - can sit in that end for the 'battle of the Ports'.

It is almost 10 years since we last faced Plymouth in a competitive game - although we have regularly toured the West Country during pre season since - when we beat them 6-3 on aggregate over 2 legs in the league cup in the 1998/99 season.

I remember the 1st leg at Home Park when we won 3-1 as I was there with a visiting cousin and my sister, this is when I got introduced to some members of the south west supporters club, then for the next couple of years or so - while I could afford it - never looked back, going to most games home and away.

I think Nikos Kyzeridis scored that night - I am certain he at least played. He was a fella that came with a big reputation but he did not live up to it...

i think itll be a quality game, even tho i dont want us to underestimate the pilgrims, id like to see some youth playing in this game (songo'o or subotik or djeziri)

There not a bad team. Playing a very strong team, winning & scoring some home goals would be wonderful. We are not Arsenal who can play top notch reserves. Play half a team & we'll probably lose.

even with a full team we could still lose... nope ive got to admit we need to play as strong a team as we can tbh, or the dream could end!

one slip up, and our FA cup dream could be over! play a good team, and suddenly we just need a bit of luck to be off to Wembley! no brainer here really - although maybe with our current squad, we could have a couple of the new guys on the bench...for when we are 7-0 up at half time...i wish

haha yeah agreed it needs to be mainly a strong team, but nothing wrong with a few young'uns on the bench, or one of them at least

yeah, could do no harm, we have no better attacking options on the bench, and if we go a goal behind we cant stick defenders upfront!

Nice touch with the ticket prices Pompey.. allthough i'd like to it it as a policy (not a one or to off) similar to what Chelsea do.. As for feilding anything less than the best possible team (including the subs) forget it fellas we need to win this game no fart around giving reserves an outing just cos it might be nice... Do we wanna win this cup ?... Hell yes... then full strength team I say... Unless we draw HAWKS in the 5th round then I might change my mind a little... just a little..

Good luck Ben!

In an ideal world Davies would have agreed a new deal and stayed with Pompey next season but Grimsby have been able to offer him the stability of a two-year deal we couldn't.

Versatile former Arsenal man in on trial?

Deacon, who started out with Arsenal has been with Stevenage and Crawley with the latter releasing him at the end of last season. Cookie will 'run the rule' over him in pre-season?
