Look who's coming back...
...And just in time to face us!
Former Pompey winger Lauren Robert looks as if he will be back playing in the premier league, and his return - which should be confirmed this week - will come just in time for him to face us when Derby come to town later this month...
The Frenchman - and free agent - had been heavily 'linked' with our FA cup 3rd round opponents Ipswich, but after training with Derby last week he impressed and now looks set to sign for them until the end of the season, and could get a 'frosty reception' when they come to Fratton Park on the 19th.
To be honest I was delighted when we managed to sign Robert on loan when we did, and although he showed some of his magic and scored at least one cracking free kick that I can recall I was glad when he left, as his attitude sucked and he summed up the kind of mood that was being shown on the whole during our struggles in the 2005/06 season.
After throwing one 'strop' too many Harry Redknapp soon showed him the door upon his return as our boss.

I think he's one of those players that doesn't lack talent but is very lacking where it comes to attitude. Bit like Andy Cole. Still Derby are pretty desparate aren't they?

as said i was pretty pleased when he signed, but these thoughts soon changed... i cant see him getting a very good reception when he returns...

never heard of him (my tuturing from senor chix about the history of pompey fc has yet to commence...) - but like i say, its still ncie to see oldfaces return...

and matt taylor might be back if he joins sunderland. lets hope he doesnt delay the move just to screw us overwhen we play them, like scoring an own goal or summin. but i cant see him doing that, or moving to sunderland. bring on robert!

Somebody ring Paul Jewell and warn him.. This bloke was a joke and never deserved to wear a Pompey shirt... Not one of our better signings.. he sulked more than my 3 year old daughter does when Daddy won't play because he's watching football again! - Best left in the dustbin in my opinion..
