Pompey's best 11 - in your opinion

Pompey's best 11 - in your opinion

An idea has been put to me, so rather than simply put the idea out there in the forum, or simply writing this article an email regarding this fantastic idea has been sent to each of you - hopefully most of you will be interested...

So, please keep a look out for this email - as below - fellas; it should be arriving - if it has not already - with you shortly:

Vital Pompey member

Please take a moment to read this email as I think it is a crackin' idea, and one that I think most, if not all members will want to take part in?

A new feature that we are 'hoping to run' on Vital Pompey will be one whereby each member selects what the consider to be their all time best Pompey starting 11 - there will be no 'right or wrong' it is your opinion, people might not agree but it is your call.

This idea has been put forward by Chix, who said:

'Rug as an idea (I'm full of them tonight) - could we not ask each member to do their eleven (together with why they were chosen) and do them individually as an article on the front page. Say one member per week or something...it could run like the knowing me knowing you feature?'

As said I think it is a crackin' idea, and one that many would have an opinion on and should generate plenty or chat and banter among us.

If you are interested, simply reply to this email - portsmouth@vitalfootball.co.uk - to let me know, and/or simply send through your selected 11 - ideally as mentioned with reasons behind your selections, so preferable not just your list of names - along with your Vital Pompey username and they will be added in tern, we can then debate your selection.

Thanks for your time
Rug - the Vital Pompey 'landlord', or editor if you will.

Please do not list your selections below though fellas, if you want to do this send me through an email, like several of you have already, cheers.

Brilliant idea but having seen Pompey for over 30 years, that's a lot of players to consider. To fair 60% were awful, 30% average to good & the remaining 10% very good to brilliant. Still a tough choice.

Guys, is this supposed to be what would be my virtual, timewarping starting eleven, or players that have given years of service to the club?

I think it's up to you 4me.. some are doing people they have only seen play 'live', others I think will do a 'premiership 11' others may do players in their lifetime.. I'm doing what I consider to be 'Pompey's' best 11 whether I've seen them play or not... bottom line is that it is your decision ... as long as there are 11 !!

Almost there...stay on target

The win over Newport saw Pompey react well to the defeat to Stevenage with most results going in the Blues' favour too, meaning we've effectively got a seven point buffer on Boro.
