Boukari keen on Pompey switch

According to the News of the World Lens striker Razak Boukari has claimed that he is a target for Pompey: 'Portsmouth are interested in me. They are a possibility for me.

'I want to leave Lens. I'm not happy at continually being a substitute - I need to play regularly to make progress.

'We expect to find a solution soon'.

He has been linked with us for a while - as well as other clubs - but is the French U21 international the answer for us?

My thinking would be no, as Harry Redknapp always seems very reluctant to buy, let alone play younger talent, that is unless he has seen them come through the clubs academy - as happened with West Ham...

What do we think fellas, any truth here or just Sunday paper talk?

Harry usually has a good record in the transfer window - how's he do it?

HR's good record in the transfer window, relates to some degree to the large number of transactions involved.

Not a great scoring record but he's young and French which is always a good thing.

when they are young and french they almost always seem to be dual nationality, then when they dont get into france team, join their second nation, which is generally in africa. we dont need africans!

"It is all right Matty saying he wants to go on and play somewhere, but unless I get replacements, he is not going anywhere," Redknapp concluded. "He is one of my 14 and I need him."

harry also said that he had no 19 or 20 year olds that could make the step up. "they are no way good enough to play in the premiership". does that rule out songo'o?

Looked up Boukari on Football Manager and you wouldn't buy him on the basis of his stats on that game.

sonko'o was deemed not good enough at crysal palace, and caim back (slightly) in disgrace (although his loan was extend). If he wasnt good enough forn championship nstrugglers, then i think he has a long way to go!

Don't see the panic in purchasing for the hell of it. We should have enough in the tank to get a minimum of 4pts & probable 6pts against Sunderland & Derby. To be fair we don't get anything at OT or home to Chelski & then we are into mid Feb. We'll have Nugent up front. Noe back on the left or centre of defence. Pedro, Davis & Hughes in centre midfield. we maybe short on the right of midfield but Utaka hasn't done that great being there. I'd play Matty there & get him to swap flanks with Niko. We'll be fine as long as they don't injured or sent off. There is nothing wrong with our bare bones. better the devil you know than a six month loanee.

we need a right midfielder with pace am i the only one that thinks that wayne routledge fills that need and is young with pace to burn him and johnson down the right would be terrific. as for taylor going i dont see this as to badder loss (if it does happen) we do have a left midfielder krankjar and plenty of left footers in the time who could accomadate. i still think he should stay. we maybe need a creative midfielder the d'allesandro transfer non transfer i think is dead but i hope not as aimar is out injured and man city might steal diego millitio off them which would deplete there squad as for the many players and agents saying we are intrested i cannot comment as i have no knowledge of these players but am hopefull of a goal scorer a right midfielder and a attacking centre midfielder. pompeyboy - not asking for much there, particually as we onyl have a budget for frees/loans/whatever we can get from sales... i think that nicking a few players from scum might be quite nice, with nathan dyer, and andrew surman fitting the role of attacking midfielder and pacy right winger quite nicly (i think...)

hmmmmmmmmm im not asking for much considering d'allesandro will be cheap as he has fallen out wayne routedge is about 2-3 million so not big transfer its just wages but are we agreed with right midfielder and attacking midfielder and a clinical striker

Routledge isn't the answer. Yes he has pace but there's no end product. D'alessandro is a tempting idea but like someone said neither he or Krunchie will get back and get stuck in when we're defending leaving us very exposed.

d'allesandro would be nice - even if he didnt really come back to defend - as we need to get a lead TO defend in home games...and he could just be used as an impact player...or is that just wasting his talent?

Striker.. Striker.. If this guy is a striker we are having a laugh - He must be the French version of David Nugent and probably not the answer we are looking for up front... ireckon with his scoring record he is an attacking midfield (at best) or maybe an under developed long term prospect - Scored 7 in 48 games for his previous (Div 2) club and since moving to the french div 1 has not scored in 40 starts - He's just 20, and is Togolese-French and interestingly he is the son of former Togolese international, so whoever made the comment about him probably be dual nationality and probably african is probably correct - He was linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham before joining Lens and has subsequently been linked wth Arsenal - The only other thing I've found is that he made his France U-21 debut against Sweden U-21 on November 14, 2006 .. So given that little lot he ain't no forward but appears as a midfield (I reckon) to have a bit of promise... he could be an interesting propect .. let's see how it develops ..
