Teams - Ipswich v Pompey

Teams - Ipswich v Pompey

This is the Ipswich line up:

Neil Alexander
Fabian Wilnis
Alex Bruce
Castro Sito
David Wright
Liam Trotter
Owen Garvan
Gavin Williams
Danny Haynes
Billy Clarke
Pablo Counago

Substitutes
Shane Supple
Richard Naylor
Tommy Miller
Jamie Peters
Alan Lee

A few changes were made, there was no place in the squad for Sulley Muntari but fellow Africans Papa Bouba Diop, John Utaka and Kanu all started.

Arnold Mvuemba and Pedro Mendes came in Muntari and Richard Hughes. There was no place for Benjani in the squad - but surprise, surprise 'the golden boy' Kanu started up front with Dave Nugent on the bench, Matty Taylor is virtually nailed on to leave after his omission from the squad...

So we line up like this:

David James
Glen Johnson
Sol Campbell
Sylvain Distin
Hermann Hreidarsson
John Utaka
Arnold Mvuemba
Papa Bouba Diop
Pedro Mendes
Niko Kranjcar
Kanu

Substitutes
Asmir Begovic
Lauren
Djimi Traore
Dave Nugent
Noe Pamarot

really happy to see mvuemba start, but as good as kanu can be im less than impressed that he is starting again!... the fella can do now wrong so im starting to get very, very wound up with the fact that he is always getting the call ahead of nuge!

Kanu is awesome, and his creativity will rip ipswich to shreds.

looking at our bench, we have no-one that can come on and change the game (aside from nugent) - 3 defenders and a goal keeper - we really need to get some players in fast!

i like kanu, i think the fella is a genuis but he cant run, he can barely walk so playing him up front alone is almosy pointless... what happened to 'arry's 'kanu can't play 2 games a week' - this will be the 2nd that he has started in a week and he came on in another didnt he, not to mention the games just before... its a joke, last week was almost insulting to nuge as 'arry had admitted kanu was shattered yet he still turned to him ahead of nuge against reading didnt he... it might sound like i dislike kanu and love nuge, it isnt the case i just want players to be given a fair crack of the whip and not all are in my opinion, whilst others play - not just kanu - regardless...

It seems HR is determined to get everything out of the Ghana bound boys before they leave but why no Sulley? The bench as carpet says is a bit thin but we can always move players around move Utaka up front etc with Lauren or Johnson playing side side.

Blues MotM at Morecambe

The 1-1 draw at Morecambe will always be remembered for 'that goal' from bloody Barry Roche with it his goal, deep into injury-time that denied us a precious 3pts at the Globe Arena.
