Matty Taylor bids accepted

Matty Taylor has told setanta sports that Pompey have accepted bids from 2 premier league clubs, although it has not been revealed which clubs have seen offers accepted or for how much, and he has not spoken to either yet: 'the latest on my situation is that I had a call from my agent Rob Segal on Wednesday telling me Portsmouth had accepted an offer from two Premier League clubs.

'I am waiting for the green light to speak to the two clubs; hopefully the situation will be sorted out sooner rather than later.

'I've tried to keep the fans in the loop all the way through and I want them to know that there has never been a transfer request from me.

'Obviously I expressed my wish to play football two months ago and Portsmouth have responded by accepting the two offers.

'All I want is the chance to start playing regular football, that's what it has always been about, and hopefully soon this blog will be about a goal I've scored rather than where I'm playing my football'.

By accepting bids it is clear that he is no longer wanted at the club.

So fellas it looks as though the Taylor situation could be coming to a head sooner, rather than later - which is something that most of us would rather see, it is not something we want to see drag on.

It will be interesting to see if he features today? Which I would doubt...

So who are the possible candidates? Bolton, Reading, Fulham, Boro, Sunderland, Birmingham ??? Wigan??? - I can't see there being anybody else... I guess when choosing he'll want to ensure he stays in the Premier League and I don't think (because of his family) that he'll want to move very far.. My guess is if Reading are one of the clubs that Pompey have had a bid accepted from.. then that's where he'll go..

Didn't a little bird tell us about Reading a couple of weeks back?

Madness to lose Matty. If Niko gets injured we are stuffed on the left side. Do we need the 3m we'll get on the sale? If Matty signs a 3 year deal, we'll get a 1m a year in installments. Madness.

This just in: Pompey will sell Matty Taylor to a Premiership club then buy Andrew Surman from The Scummers. Surman is a good player and a terrific prospect, and more like the player Hal wanted Matty to be. You heard it here first.

Also, Nathan Dyer would be a good buy at the right price. A bit of competition for John (the non) Utaka. And does he need it.

Any more news of links with Kevin Kuranyi, anyone? I'd like him to sign. He can head the ball. And run. And German football isn't unlike ours.

i hope that it is to reading if anyone as i think they have thje making of a very good side... we've been linked with surman a few times havent we - not to everyone's liking but i would be ok with an arrival if it happened, dyer would also be a good signing... kuranyi would be a fantastic signing, but i cant see that deal happening - well maybe in the summer?

by the way, welcome ronnie redknapp - nice to see another new name :-) tbh i dont think that matty taylor has been part of 'arry's plans for a long time has he, he's england quality if/when he gets a run but for whatever reason he isnt in 'arry's thoughts is he... we'll regret selling him, but what can you do.

hope he goes to reading, would hate to see him go to bolton, hope we get more than 3 million, but really, i wish he stayed

If we lose Taylor and sign an unproven striker, keeping in mind our normal playing formation and our existing unused striker(s). I will seriously consider HR. unhinged. How about another right back.!!

My bet would be Reading as he is an Oxfordshire lad. I agree Russ, Matt got it spot on.

time to go on strike if he leaves to fund a move for a japenease untested striker? or is that too radical (second time ive used that word in 2 posts!)

well after him not even being on the bench today that has to be the final nail .. I reckon we will hear first thing Monday that he has signed for Reading .. Shame innit.. whoo would have thought at the end of last season that we would sell arguably our two most passionate players... Matty Taylor and Gary O'Neil...

tbh ive always had doubts that matty taylor would stay for the long term, o'neil leaving was the one that really surprised me...

i wudnt rule out him not leaving, we have accepted bids before (fulham, tottenham) and hes still here, so never write matty off!

i thought at the time when redknapp was down at southampton matty and gary where the ones that said he mad made a mistake and spoke out i always thought harry would get rid of them. seems to be happeneing i would want 5 mill definately as for the surman and dyer rumours i am not to sure surman would be better then muevemba but i do think dyer would be a great asset but unlikely to happen. Wayne Routledge is available for probably alot less and is proven prem quality worked well for us in the loan seasons.
