What is it - is he going or staying?

What is it - is he going or staying?

One day the papers will make up their minds what they are going to write... and maybe stick to it?

Wednesday night brought talk that Harry Redknapp would refuse the offer to sell Dave Nugent as he cannot afford to lose players, particularly strikers with the African nations coming up.

Yet today, the very same paper is reporting that Redknapp wants to bring Andres D'Alessandro back, so he might sell Nugent to raise the funds... in all fairness though it also ended by saying that this would not be likely - the sale of Nugent to fund this move that is.

Bringing D'Alessandro back would not be something I would be against, completely the opposite but with a striker also needed selling one to buy a midfielder, as creative and deadly as D'Alessandro is would not seem to make much sense would it?

I'm split with Nugent, on one hand I think Pompey should cash in but on the other he hasn't really had much of a chance and I fear could be a decent player if given the chance. I'd like to see arry try and build a squad with more English players in so on that think Nugent should stay.

Arry doesn't like the lad, let him go. Personally I'd love to have seen him get a run in the first team, but with Arry's beloved 4-5-1 he's clearly not gonna get it. Better than Kanu in my opinion....not to play down what Kanu's achieved for us, but Kanu either seems to have one eye on the ANC or he's losing what little pace he had and hunger.

I keep harking on about having Nugent at Rovers. I think he would be a top signing and am bemused why he hasn't been given a chance at Portsmouth, considering you did £6mill for the bloke.

Well it was the Daily Mail, wasn't it!! Personally, I don't think Nugent will go, unless it is part of a deal for another striker.

Still not sure D'Alessandro suits our play anymore. Although he could be interesting on the Left with Kruncher on the Right. Lack of pace though?

stillthewhizz - possibly not, but our play doesnt suit fratton park, and we have tried 4-4-2 with our players, and that doesnt work either, so we need someone that can wark a bit of "magic" and break down oposition defences. I would hate to see nuge go, and would feel very disopointed - but if harry doesnt play him, then theres no point in keeping him

if d'alessandro and kranjcar didnt track back, as exciting as that could be to have them on either flank we could be left very, very exposed... something has to give with nuge sooner or later. 'arry is either saving him for something - am i clutching a straws - or as said he has seen something that has completely changed his mind on the fella... if you are a 'favourite' of 'arry's you can do no wrong, if not yuo're always running against the wind arent you... i still think nuge will stay tho and will still turn out to be a fantastic servant to this club - again, maybe im just hoping this? i do feel he will be a top class footballer tho, i just hope its here!

Lets hope Nugget gets his run during the Africa Nations and then gets the goals he needs in order to either keep his place or if arry still fails to play him once the others return, will at least raise the value of him in order for us to cash in during the summer.
