Pompey competition update #21

Vital Fantasy Football - 'Pompey mini league'

No changes yet again this time round, so the current leader in the Vital Fantasy Football 'Pompey mini league' remains The Pompey Chimes on 736 points, who retains top spot for an 12th game running. Crazy Cats has 729 points, retaining 2nd spot also for an 12th game - but really closes the gap - and maradona_kebab retains 3rd for a 6th game running, with 709 points overall.

The Pompey Chimes, Crazy Cats and maradona_kebab are in the top 45 of over 4600 entries overall - in 5th, 16th and 42nd places respectively - congratulations fellas.

'Pompey predictions league'

That is more like it, is what I would say about our performance in the Pompey Predictions League for the Reading game.

steaming and pompeycarpet were the highest points scorers this time with 4 points each.

There was no change in the top 3 although the gap between 1st and 2nd was extended, but the gap between 2nd and 3rd was closed. Pompeyrug retained top spot for a 6th game running, 2 points moving him onto 42 points in total. Chix retains 2nd place, also for a 6th game running, staying on 38 points overall, with steaming retaining 3rd for a 4th game running, 4 points takes him into 35 points in total.

If you missed out on predicting for the Reading game, as well as any others it is never too late - just start with your predictions for the next with Sunderland away the weekend after next. So if you have not already made your predictions on this game with Sunderland do it here.

I can't believe this .. Everytime I predict a result I get it wrong.. I think that since my initial sprint in August and September I haven't got a result right... Change of tactics for Saturday... think about the game.. decide on the outcome and then post the opposite ... Lets see it that can get me off of the 38 points.... Well with 38pts at least I'm not gonna get relegated !!

I didn't enter because I would have shared the wooden spoon with Lawro. My head & heart rarely agree. Good luck to those of you in it.

What do we hope for from the rest of the season?

There seems to be a lot of unhappiness around, despite a pretty decent season in my opinion. Well, certainly our best season in a long while.

Debut delight...kind of!

It wasn't a result, and in many ways a performance, for Sheff United loanee Freeman to remember too fondly as he didn't really have a great game against Orient? Then again who did!

Tubbs has left the building

Tubbs has finally left Pompey; perhaps his destination is something of a surprise then again there had been some 'rumours' recently of an Eastleigh interest.
