Teams - Reading v Pompey

Teams - Reading v Pompey

This is the Reading line up:

Marcus Hahnemann
Graeme Murty
Ibrahima Sonko
Ivar Ingimarsson
Nicky Shorey
Stephen Hunt
James Harper
Kalifa Cisse
Bobby Convey
Kevin Doyle
Dave Kitson

Substitutes
Adam Federici
Leroy Lita
Andre Bikey
Ulises De la Cruz
Shane Long

The only changes from the last game saw Glen Johnson return from injury in place of Lauren - who dropped to the bench - and Sulley Muntari come in for Kanu, who also dropped to the bench. There was no start for Dave Nugent though as had been hoped for, if not expected...

So we line up like this:

David James
Glen Johnson
Sol Campbell
Sylvain Distin
Hermann Hreidarsson
John Utaka
Papa Bouba Diop
Richard Hughes
Sulley Muntari
Niko Kranjcar
Benjani

Substitutes
Asmir Begovic
Lauren
Dave Nugent
Matty Taylor
Kanu

14:58 4-5-1 - Very predictable but as least Kanu has been rested - I'm convinced he's not playing anybody who is not african in case of injury while the ANC is on - Thank God Johnson is playing I was worried about him ... there's a big B&Q next to Readings Ground !

2016-17 Champions Review: April

Pompey had a 6 point gap and were playing as good as they had all season, but with 7 games remaining, not even the most optimistic fan could have predicted how it would unfold.

2016-17 Champions Review: March

Every season has its highs and lows. The draw at home to Morecambe was a body blow for Pompey, but little did we know that the next home game against Crewe was to be our turning point.

Done and dusted - O'Brien joining Coventry

Academy graduate O'Brien, who went on to play for Barnet, Brentford and Dagenham following his release by Pompey, will leave Fratton Park again - he'll link up with Doyle at Coventry.
