Happy New Year fellas!
We have just about waved goodbye to 2007, it has had a few 'blips' along the way, particularly towards the end, but on the whole can anyone honestly say that they have been disappointed with it - Pompey wise that is? I know that I cannot say that I have been to be honest.
2008 is now virtually here, we start off by going to Reading tomorrow looking to kick-start the New Year in the right way, that way being a performance worthy of one that we want to see and hopefully all 3 points to get us back on track - do not forget that you can keep up to date and share your thoughts on the game with Reading right here! Shortly before kick off when the teams have been announced they will be published here, then those of us not fortunate enough to make the game - if we are feeling in a fit enough state - can share your comments in the section below as the game goes on.
As I finish I will say this, remember those near and dear to you, or even those that fall into that bracket that are no longer here. I would also like to say a few words on Phil O'Donnell who tragically died the other day while playing for Motherwell, it was a tragic loss and my thoughts are with his family now. Also think of those less fortunate than yourself and also think of others as well as just yourself - if we all do our bit we can make the world a better place in the New Year and beyond.
I am not trying to put a dampener on things, but this evening is often a night for reflection not just an excuse to get 'beered up'.
Those are my words of wisdom out of the way, so all that is left is for me to wish all of you - along with your families and friends - and members of Vital Pompey new and old, as well as everyone else on Vital Football full stop all the best for the New Year, lets hope it is good for us all eh fellas.
Now go have a drink or two, or three, or four...
