Nugent out Lita in - swap deal?

Nugent out Lita in - swap deal?

It appears as though Harry Redknapp's dealings this January will be limited to loans and swap deal and the latest 'rumour' in the offering is one involving Dave Nugent and Leroy Lita.

A deal that would see the strikers switch clubs?

I sincerely hope that Nugent stays with Pompey but for whatever reason - is it that Redknapp is saving him for another time or is it that he simply does not rate him afterall and does not want him - he cannot seem to get a game no matter what.

Lita is a striker that I would welcome to here and his days with Reading do seem numbered as he has dramatically fallen from grace with them. His attitude worries me slightly though, but his ability on the field cannot be questioned.

Nugent and Lita had a fine partnership at U21 level with England, so if we could find a way of having them both here then I think that this could be a fantastic long term pairing.

I do not know what will happen, like I say ideally I would like both here and hope that a swap deal does not have to take place as I desperately want Nugent to stay with us, not because I want him to prove a success here, but because I am convinced that he will be successful and letting him go will be a big mistake...

I can see us getting Lita, but not at the expense of the nugget. He looked good when he came on against 'boro and I hope he gets the chance of a full 90 mins

would love to see lita, would hate to loose nuggent. I am intrested that you say his dealings will all be "on the cheap" - where has this come from?

i would love sasha to dip into his pocket again but im not so sure he will spend too much this coming month mate... money that is spent will basically have to be raised i reckon and by doing it that way i would surely only work on a 1 in 1 out basis... so using what we get for players to finance others arrivals or cheap, free or loan signings i feel are going to have to be the way we go...

I think any money Harry has will be limited to what he can generate, I think we could do with another 3 or 4 signings which for quality would cost around £20M. Not sure Sascha has this sum to commit and this could damage the good early season form.

I'm with Tony and Carpet in as much as I think the out of favour Lita could come down to Fratton but I'd hate to loose Nuge and as Rug says if he is to make his mark in the premiership then why not at Pompey and why not as a partner to Lita. Lita scored 31 in 85 for Bristol City and has bagged 18 in 65 for Reading so he hasn't really transferred his form to the premiership but he is/was scoring (more than Nuge has done) He also has 6 in 9 for the under 21's. Forgetting his time at Bury, Nugent scored 33 in 94 for Preston & 4 in 14 for the U21's so their strike rate (away from the premiership) isn't too dis-similar.. I think to have both would be the way to go ... If we can ... as they obviously can play together .. But Lita for Nuge in a swap.... nah I'd rather stick with what we've got.. I thnk ~:)

Sure did rug, lets hope we can get a couple of quality players in and not just increase the squad with players because they might be available on loan. (Zamora, Cisse)

i would like to see lita come in, but not nuge out, Matty out, i can see that, but lita isnt the guy i would be hoping for though, Im warming to the idea of bent, doesnt do much, but scores goals, well he did at charlton.

...and goals is what we need! Unfortunatly, i dont want to see matty out...unless a certain other left sided player came in to replace him...
