Pompey competition update #20

Vital Fantasy Football - 'Pompey mini league'

No changes once again this time round, so the current leader in the Vital Fantasy Football 'Pompey mini league' remains The Pompey Chimes on 706 points, who retains top spot for an 11th game running. Crazy Cats has 662 points, retaining 2nd spot also for an 11th game and maradona_kebab retains 3rd for a 5th game running, with 658 points overall - but the gap is closing.

The Pompey Chimes, Crazy Cats and maradona_kebab are in the top 60 of almost 4500 entries overall - in 4th, 53rd and 59th places respectively - congratulations fellas.

'Pompey predictions league'

Poor, is what I would say about our performance in the Pompey Predictions League for the Boro game when being kind - but it was not as poor as the players showing...

pompeycarpet was the highest point scorer this time with 2 points after predicting a defeat, and even that was predicted as it was meant to mean we would win! Everyone else went for a Pompey win, and most by a convincing amount - how wrong we were...

There was no change in the top 3 this time, pompeyrug retained top spot for a 5th game running staying on 40 points in total. Chix retains 2nd place, also for a 5th game running, staying on 38 points overall, with steaming retaining 3rd for a 3rd game running remaining on 31 points in total.

The Boro game meant the end of the month, so there was a monthly winner crowned for December. With 9 points UKTony lifts this crown, so gets put forward for the end of season draw for monthly winners for a chance to win another prize - congratulations to him.

If you missed out on predicting for the Boro game, as well as any others it is never too late - just start with your predictions for the next with Reading away tomorrow. So if you have not already made your predictions on this game with Reading do it here.

i claim a moral victory here - the only person to predict the outcome of the boro game correctly!!!
pompeycarpet
oh, actually, i got the score wrong...but it was close enough...
pompeycarpet
predicting that we would lose was enough carpet... i think it is time for you to start predicting what you really think the outcome will be now tho, the 'predicting a defeat as it works the otherway' thing seems to have stopped working now.
pompeyrug
your right, it does...but i still think our only hope against reading is if our african players decide this is there final chance before they go on holiday to show that they will be good enough to walk back into the team...
pompeycarpet
i think our best chance is to freshen things up - new year, players headig off so lets put some fresh faces in, if players are 'tired' then let those that are fresh, nuge, taylor muvemba and so on come in and start to be given the chance that it would appear will be their's anyway over the next month or so...
pompeyrug
Carpet well done on predicting the defeat lol. Still well down the table though.
eastneydave
Yaeh Carpet ... those loses haven't served you that well have they .. still aay to go before you knock Rug off the top spot... Well actually I plan to do that with my prediction for the Reading game - 2-2 I reckon
Chix
im gonna pull further away today mate - pompey win and im feeling a 4-2 now, so that'll be my prediction, goals from nuge x 2, benji and krunchie i reckon...
pompeyrug
Easier to predict the lotery numbers than what we will do on the pitch.
