3pts the expectation against Boro

3pts the expectation against Boro

Pompey are expected to pick up all 3pts against Boro today! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I completely share.

You do not get any easy games, anyone that thinks that you do is very, very misguided but it is understandable to see why such a high percentage of people feel that we will beat Boro - which, with all due respect to them with previous records and current seasons performance we really should do, particularly if we are seriously looking to maintain our hard work in the first half of the season.

Another goalless return against Arsenal in the 0-0 draw was very welcome, but if we cannot break down Boro and end our baron goal run and also not pick up the points too serious questions will be asked - I am sure that we will be able to win though.

What the poll asked - Pompey v Boro?

How you voted - Pompey win 90%, Boro win 5%, Draw 5%

Current Poll - We are just a couple of days away from the January sales kicking in, business can begin again and areas that are needing looking at can be serviced.

Most areas in our squad are covered, but a few could still do with strengthening, if not improving themselves but which area(s) of our side are weakest - this is what pompeyrug wants to know with this - 'where do we most need to strengthen out squad during the sales?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

any less and any aspirations for Europe will dead in the water, Boro aren't as strong as last year, but remember they DID beat Arsenal

this is a must win for sure. The boys need to stop *****ing around & show the desire to get back on track. In my opinion that was a great result agains Arsenal, but mean absolutly foook all if we dont get the job done today...we all keep preaching that we can reach Europe, if so, this, & many other games HAVE to be a home win!

Charliechimes I agree this is the game where the players have to wake up realise who they are up against, realise they have a crowd to please and then smash Boro out of sight - I'd take 1-0 now to be cautious but I'm expecting 2,3 or 4 - It has to come today. No more excuses we need to see goals goals goals - Come on you Blues do us proud

we had a performance against arsenal, one that i was mroe than happy with... we must build on this today with another performance and a win, 1-0 would do me but i feel today is the day when we score a few...

not much to say really - 3 pts is expected, and the only worry is that will leave us open to the "lightning" pace of stewert downing (...) who could rip us apart down the counter attack. Easily possiblethat we will go down hard!!!

Ohhhh, expectations. Rarely do they work for us. However even if Lawro has tipped us to win, I do expect a win.

Just hope the players dont get too complacent. A performance like that against arsenal coupled with a 4-4-2 formation will result in a win.

if lawro has tipped us to win, we're screwed. but today is the day we trust lawro, and come away with the three points

Your home run has got to change eventually maybe Boro will chip in with a couple of own goals to get you off and running.

Big Ben returns!

There's no doubting how important Davies is to us, we most definitely missed the former Sheffield United man against Orient but Cook's confirmed he'll start against Bristol Rovers.

Winning over the fans

Cook feels he still has to 'win over a proportion' of the fans at Pompey?

Tubbs surprised...in a way he has a point

5-goals in a combined total of 8-matches isn't a bad return is it so having made his move to Eastleigh this week I get Tubbs' point at his surprise Cook wasn't selecting him.

Pompey Predictions League - update no.28

The Pompey predictions league is very much part of this site now! This continued with a defeat to Orient last Saturday.
