Matty Taylor too pricey for Bolton

According to The Daily Mail Bolton have been put off Matty Taylor because of our asking price... which if true is something that delights me personally!

The 'reports' say that Pompey are asking £5m for Taylor - which is surely more than fair given his quality and ability to quite possibly become a future England international - but this is more than Bolton are willing to pay.

Clearly I would ideally not want him to leave full stop, but the chances are heavily weighed in favour of him going - I am just delighted to hear that we are asking such an amount, as if he was sold for anything less saying I would be 'disappointed' would be an understatement.

Reading and Everton are just two of the other clubs 'rumoured' to be interested.

Never quite sure why he's drifted out of favour - anyone got an explanation?

its been a long known thing that taylor and 'arry dont get on - but i think both are too professional to let that get in the way... i just think that matty taylor - as much as he is a crowd favourite and we would love him to be given a chance and want him to stay - just isnt a part of 'arry's vision for the future?

ony 5 million? I get the feeling that harry doesnt think he is fast enough, and the only "special" thing he can do with the ball is score fantastic goals - which kranjcar can also do, so that puts krunchie ahead of him in the side - and with krunchie playing so well, who can argue? I thought he might have started instead of kanu, but we Harry chose for the more ATTACKING option, of playing 2 centre forwards - something we havnt done in quite a while (albeit 1 on the right). did arsne notice that?

The thing about Taylor is, he needs a run out before he hits form. Clearly he isn't going to get that here anymore so we will never see him back to the greatness he was last year. It's a shame but his exit is inevitable.

Lets get it in perspective, Matty is a decent footballer, but he lacks pace, is really very one footed and doesnt defend well against anyone with pace, which is why he is a better wing back than left back. One on one most wingers fancy their chances against him, and he is no longer first choice left wing back. If we can get 5 million take it and bring in someone in midfield who is creative and can get us a goal or two.

Sadly MT maybe a part of great past rather than our great present or great future. time moves on for all of us & it seems MT time has run out.

Sad as it is Matt (& Owens) I think you are right .. In some respects the soooner he goes the better .... £3.5million to Reading.. It's a done deal.. you mark my words..

I sure hope not, I hope they hold out for the 5 mill deal, its not like there is a shortage of suitors so I think it is a realistic price

you fellas could be right, but as i say anything less that £5m would be very disappointing for me tbh fellas...
pompeyrug
but the £3.5 pric might be a sweetner to get Lita on the cheap... Not something I've heard but worth a thought..
Chix
if that is a part of the deal than I would not be sour about it
whitestones
Yep, Lita would be welcome, he always looks sharp, and maybe he and Nugent are long term options.
