Performance during the A.C.O.N...

Performance during the A.C.O.N...

Pompey will perform 'very well' during the African Cup! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from tozopompey's poll are not thoughts that I share.

We will lose several players during the African Nations when this takes place, as much as most will be missed overall my own thinking is that only in terms of personnel will they desperately be needed... but all can be covered, particularly if we sign a few players.

We have players that have been waiting for a chance so this will come along, and on the whole these players are good enough to replace those that will be missing, but in many ways I cannot help but think this will be a good thing to a degree as those waiting to come in should be hungry and will be wanting to stake a claim to keep this place.

Yep, I reckon that we will be fine during the African Nations and should do 'very well' during our African players absences.

What the poll asked - What do you think will be our performance during the African cup of nations period?

How you voted - perform very well 31%, perform averagely 27%, perform well but not up to expectation 20%, perform excellently well 12%, perform poorly 10%

Current Poll - Harry Redknapp will not change the formation at home will he, no matter what we think - but it must be time for change...

We can see with our own eyes that the formation being used at home isn't really working this season, but what formation should we use - this is what storagematt wants to know with this - 'what formation should we play at home?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Looking at the last two performances, I don't think we'll miss Utaka... or Diop ... or Muntari.... or Kanu.... maybe Lauren by the virtue that he's hardly played this season..... I just hope the other players take their chance and step up to the mark - I wish all taking part good luck and hope they come back injury free...

i think we can look further back than the last 2 performances to know we wont miss utaka... diop has gone off the boil recently, so he's due a rest anyway, the 'limelight' looks like its gone to muntari's head - he's been good but nowhere near the hype he's had recently - and kanu, well he is kanu but i think he showed against liverpool why i have thought since the moment he decided to stay why he should be used as an impact player from the bench, he was fantastic for a spell when he came on - this is the way to use him 'arry...

On recent form, it may do us a favour to play without them. Give some others a chance to bust a blood vessel or two.

Since my comment (before the Arsenal game) some (well all apart from utaka) have partly redeemed themselves .. Even Kanu who I think had his best half in a Pompey shirt for a long time (although he should have come off after 60 miuntes) .. Still don't think we will miss thm that much though .... but a lot depends on whether Matty Taylor stays or goes...
