Top goal, Sulley's 2nd against Villa

Sulley Muntari's second strike against Villa was the Pompey goal of the season so far! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from jbaker's poll are thoughts that I would not disagree with... but I did vote another way myself.

Muntari scored two belters in that game but the second was the pick and was a fine strike after his initial effort to win the ball off Nigel Reo-Coker, nutmeg the defender then fire home - so in many ways it is hard to bet against this goal.

Because of its sheer power, unexpectedness and the fact that it was his left foot when we did not think he had one I cast my vote for Noe Pamarot, but still Niko Kranjcar's free kick against Birmingham was top class - but all the goals on offer were quality.

So there we have it, Muntari is the goal of the season man at the moment but we still have a half a season to go so all being well we can still have a couple more to rival this come May.

What the poll asked - Goal of the Season so far?

How you voted - Muntari 2nd vs Aston Villa 51%, Kranjcar vs Birmingham 24%, Pamarot vs Newcastle 17%, Utaka vs Bolton 4%, Benjani vs Newcastle 3%, Muntari 1st vs Aston Villa 1%, Benjani 2nd vs Reading 0%

Current Poll - So we are on the road again this weekend, with Liverpool our next port of call.

After losing our unbeaten run last weekend we look to start another run this weekend. We could think of easier places to go to start up a new run than Anfield, but we have won our last 6 away games in the league in a row so who is to say we cannot make it 7, but what do you think will be the outcome of this game - this is what pompeyrug wants to know with this - 'Liverpool v Pompey?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

There were some grat goals to choose from there and although I voted fro Niko's free kick I can see why Sulley's got the higher percentage of votes - Let's hope we can see a few more like those listed on Saturday... wouldn't it be good to beat Liverpool with a Goal of the Season contender .... but I'd settle just for beating them really !

I voted for Muntari's 2nd, but I'm surprised Utaka's goal against Bolton only got 4% - it was a cracker!

Hooray, I voted for it & the echoes of my scream when it went in are still bouncing around the house.

All great goals and it shows that we do not score many tap ins. There have been a lot of very good goals that did not make the list and Sulley's first only got one per cent - that would win most clubs.

Tracy, I agree about Utaka's goal, what a corker! And when he came over to celebrate right in front of us; slipped up and ended up on his A@$e, what a laugh..

i was surprised that sulley's 1st and utaka's goals got such little amounts... my muted claps and clinched fist are still fresh in my mind for both of sulley's goals - remember i was sat in with the villa fans...

Sulley's goal had it all, Muscle (winning the ball) Tricks(nutmeg) Technique (outside of boot) Power (30yrds, non dipping ball) it really dosen't get much better than that

Great goals all of them but wouldn't it be good if the next time we do this kind of poll it has a couple of entries like Nugents 3rd v Spurs, or Defoes 4th v Scummers in the cup.... It's early I'm still dreaming !
