'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gudjohnsen crossed off the menu

Eidur Gudjohnsen has been linked with Pompey, along with several other premier league sides for some months now but the player himself has said that he will not be leaving Barcelona.

He is a classy footballer and although I must be honest I had been undecided on whether or not I would want £8m spend on him, it was the age thing really - but then again that investment could have been paid back and much more had he been able to help guide us into Europe...

Either way, he has ruled out a move to Pompey, Newcastle, West Ham or City saying 'if I receive a call from another club my answer will be negative'.

Shame his follow countryman couldn't talk him into a move to Fratton - It would have been a good day if we could have got him he is class... £8m or not.... but everybody has their price... never give up hope.

if he is playing for barca - and getting in the side as he is again now - you cannot blame the fella for not wanting to come back can you... i still feel he will come back to england in the summer, but by then im not sure it will be to pompey - not that im saying it would have been anyway mind!

you are right rug, if he is getting in the squad as he has been of late he probably wont leave, after all coming to barcelona, i'm sure he didnt think he was going to be a key player, this kind of playing time he is getting is all he could expect so im sure he is happy and wont wana leave

I think the shock of the change of grounds wouldn't help.
