Hreidarsson completes his hat-trick

Hermann Hreidarsson can celebrate after he was named Iceland's footballer of the year for a third time.

He has won the award in 1997 and 2000 and managed to oust - Pompey transfer target? - Eidur Gudjohnsen into 2nd place to gain this award and complete a hat-trick of wins.

Congratulations to Hreidarsson who looks like he will be able to celebrate this by getting back the left back place that he lost when he got injured. He lost this to Noe Pamarot but he is now himself out with an injury.

Hopefully this will not be the only thing Hreidarsson will be celebrating this season...

Well done HH. Now excell yourself for the blues.

i think it is fair to say that he has started to already hasnt he - or was before injury... its a shame that paramount will have to drop out after injury but now the herminator has his chance again - now he must re-take it.

He helped out with the goals didn't he? So lets get him back on board and banging in against the Arse.

I dont mind Pamarot being out (even though he was in a good run of form) because Herm has done well when he was in there. He would always have those dangerous overlapping runs, I think him and Kranjcar played well together, hopefully he will help us get back on track this weekend

Best Icelandic player.. he barely has any competition... bt well done HH... I looked up the Iceland National Team stats on Wiki and Herrmann is their third most capped player with 75 caps (the top being 101) .. the funny thing thugh is their goalscoring record, their top international goalscorer of all time has......19 goals !! (but it is in only 49 appearences so ain't that bad really)...
