Pompey to pick up less than 55pts?

Pompey will pick up no more, in fact less than 55pts this season! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from whitestones' poll are thoughts that I do not share.

I was surprised that so many people think that will we get less than 55pts to be honest, or maybe I am expecting too much...

The way I am basing my thoughts are we have 30 odd points from just about half of our games, so I would like to think that we could at least double them in the final games of the season - even more so when 'on paper' we look to have an 'easier' second half to he season than our opening, the run in is much more favourable than it was last season.

But we will see, how the rest of this month goes will still play a major role in how our season pans out I reckon, as the more points we have and the higher we are in the league by the time the transfer window opens again the better chance we have of getting 'better' players, well in my thinking anyway.

What the poll asked - How many points do you think Pompey will have at the end of the season?

How you voted - Less than 55 30%, 65-70 19%, 60-65 19%, 55-60 16%, 80+ 9%, 70-75 5%, 75-80 2%

Current Poll - We stay on the topic of points this time looking at our next 4 games.

We have away games coming up against Liverpool and Reading, with home games against Arsenal and Boro to come before the end of this year, and at the very start of the next. They are difficult games, but what can we expect from them - this is what The Rabbi wants to know with this - 'how many points will Pompey get from the matches against Liverpool, Arsenal, Middlesbrough, and Reading?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Not your thoughts and not ours I think ... I sense a little infiltration... when I looked last night it was virtually neck and neck between 55-60, 60-65 & 65-70 now all of a sudden it's a majority who reckon it's less than 55% .... Probably one of those very funny Spurs fans who seem to spend more time on our site than they do their own... I'm off to wreck Rotherhams poll !! ... only joking Rotherham !!

I think Chix is right, I don't think most Pompey fans are that pessimistic. I know the ACN could hit us hard and we might hit a bad run (hopefully Saturday wasn't the start of it) but most of us think we're all going on a European Tour.

agreed, some may be 'over optimistic' but i dont think we are 'pessimistic' to be thinking we cannot at least double our current points tally - even with the african nations, if we can sort out the home form then we have 'easier' games in the 2nd half of the season than the 1st dont we...

I think it may have been taken over by Tottenham fans.
