Pompey for cup glory!

Pompey for cup glory!

Pompey will win this seasons FA cup! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from NinjaTim's poll are thoughts that I share.

Clearly no one can say with any degree of certainty that Pompey will win the cup, there are too many variables that you cannot account for, you do not know who we are going to play in each round, home or away could be an issue and what other clubs get knocked out along the way - or not - will also determine this, but why should Pompey not win it?

Providing Harry Redknapp takes the cup seriously - as you would expect - and puts out his strongest side, in a one of game I do not care who the opponent is or where this game is taking place we can beat anyone on our day.

What is the point of being in the cup if you are not in it to win it? All fans hope, some even expect that their club to win the FA cup each year; surely few were expecting us to vote any differently on the whole...

What the poll asked - The way to Wembley: Does our cup runneth over? How will we do in the FA cup this season?

How you voted - Pompey win the Cup! 38%, Semi-final heartbreak 17%, Fourth round exit 14%, Third round exit 10%, Fifth round exit 8%, Sixth round exit 8%, So close but a nice day out at Wembley 5%

Current Poll - The match of the day 2 crew want to meet some Pompey fans this weekend, some from Vital Pompey will be among but pompeyrug will not be one of them :-(

The TV people came calling and we have been able to answer their calls, but who would you want from Vital Pompey to be the fans representing Portsmouth Football Club - this is what whitestones wants to know with this - 'the landlord' cant make MOTD2, who would you want to see do it?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Completely agree Matt.. why not us .. On our day we can beat anybody home or away... all it takes is for a few 'bigger' teams to fall by the wayside and you never know.. Look at 1992 we got the short straw in the semi against Liverpool and lost in the replay on penalties .. had we have won we could have faced either Norwich or Sunderland at Wembley.. and then as of now both teams were 'doable' Bring it on I say .. Pompey for the cup it's gotta be worth a tenner hasn't it ?

An unexpected visitor

Pompey's Burgess was clearly at a loose end when the game at Crawley was postponed. That much was initially obviously with the level of desire to be involved in footie later revealed.

Cook - no need for a prolific marksman

Cook has said Pompey's lack of a 25 goal striker - I still think we have one - isn't going to impact on our promotion chances. I can see both sides of Cookie's opinion here to be fair.
