'If It's Football, It's Vital'

MOTD2 do want us - plus another!

As we know I was contacted by a producer from Match of the Day 2 - John Nicholson - about them talking to the Pompey fans this weekend with Pompey being the focus of Kevin Day's attentions.

They have now chosen some people - still I have to miss out, but I am not bitter... much! - from Vital Pompey, so all being well we will see them on MOTD2 this Sunday! Do yourselves, Pompey and this site proud fellas :-)

In order to tell some amusing stories John has also sent me another request for someone that could have a very interesting story to tell, this is what he is looking for...

It's occurred to me that, for the purposes of telling an amusing story, it would be really good to hear from a Pompey fan who doesn't go to any away games, and ideally one who might have missed the Reading game - that would be hilarious.

Could you do me a favour and put a strand out on your site asking for anyone in such unfortunate circumstances to make themselves known?

I just think it would give quite a nice balance.

My will be sister-in-law would have been ideal, as she was meant to go to the Reading game but came down ill over night so we had to leave her behind, she has also not been to any away games this season! But again this would not be possible for her.

Despite a wonderful season so far if you have missed out on the Reading game and not been able to see us away this season you have had 'a raw deal' really this season, so if you feel you could be a candidate that fits this bill - remember you cannot have been at the Reading game and you cannot have been to an away game to meet the requirements - if this is for you go for it!

If you fit the profile and this interests anyone drop me an email portsmouth@vitalfootball.co.uk - just click the link - and I will pass on the contact details that you need, then maybe you too could join the other Vital Pompey stars appearing on the box this weekend...

Well that is a different angle - picking on people who are suffering from a lack of goals. Think we will have a good day.

those that missed reading and have not been away this season have been cut somewhat of a 'raw deal' in a fantastic season...
pompeyrug
This is really exciting - I can't wait to see this on TV. I'm pleased to say I don't qualify as I went away to Chelsea (but did miss Reading) but I'd be too much of a coward anyway! Are you sure you can't do it Pompeyrug?
tracyc
Well chaps, all things being even I have an interview with the beeb. Watch this space.

Me too Matt look forward to meeting you. Tracy no need to be on TV but would be nice if we could all meet up on Saturday. Will email you details.
eastneydave

I reckon that people will be suprised that there are Pompey fans other than the world famous Westwood!!
Owenspompey
Would'nt it be funny if they all dressed as Westwood..........
pentonpompey
What a great idea, all of us as Westwood
Owenspompey
I tell you im laughing my head off!!!!!!! ;-D
pentonpompey
No fckin chance. It's bad enough having him 10 feet away for every home game. Please note no swearing on the beeb. Articulate, sensible & fanatical we can do. Bring it on.

Hi Rug, My mate who I have a season ticket next too has not been to any away games this year AND before the reading game he text me to say he was ill and couldnt make the game. BUT to make it even funnier the text also said 'hope we win but hopefully it will be a dull 1-0 win'. I text him back at the end of the game saying 'Didn't miss much mate' but he didnt read the text till the evening as he was asleep in bed. He decided to watch MOTD as normal later and then saw what he had missed!!! So funny!! He got so much stick at the next home game and hasn't seen a goal since :-) We shouldn't laugh!!!

Nice on 'Premier' my brother did something similar ...he's a deep sea fisherman so has to make his money when the whether is right .. he ohoned me the night beofre Reading and said give my ticket to one of the boys ..it's only Reading afterall..... Wise words..not..... he has to make a similar decision every Friday night and since Reading hasn't missed a game, but hasn't seen a goal. this week he is undecided at the mo and waiting for the forecast but what the bet if he goes fishing Pompey will bury Spurs and if he doesn't it'll be a 0-0 again..

the beeb will surely spend most of the afternoon with westwood wont they? after all he is our 'biggest fan'... im looking forward to seeing the fellas on tv on sunday - how cool will that be! tracyc, nope it cant be done, hopefully there will be a next time tho... how could if forget that graham, the fellas - i dont count sue, the will be sister-in-law - as she was genuinly ill - must still rue the tickets they spurned for that game eh....
pompeyrug
Premier_Pompey, that does sound like the kind of thing that the motd2 fella is looking for so if we acted quick it could maybe be what he is looking for mate... so Chix, what you are saying is that it is actually your brothers fault that we have not scored since reading :-)
pompeyrug
i live in reading, and my brother wanted to see the reading game but didnt go because he had to go to his mates party, and the last one to arrive gets laughed at and beaten up. he went to the party and because everyone else was a reading fan he missed the game and got beaten up anyway. good job. he was gutted as, wasnt even ill and still missed the game!
