Match of the Day might want us!

I have just been contacted by a producer from Match of the Day 2 - those that watch motd2 will know that once a week Kevin Day travels to a particular ground and talks to the fans of the chosen team - this week Pompey are the focus of his attention and they could be interested in using some of us from Vital Pompey?

The producer, John Nicholson had contacted me asking if I could - or I knew of anyone - that could help him out. Sadly as I will not be at the game this week - Everton and Villa back to back has wiped me out - I cannot do it personally, but maybe some of you fellas would be interested?

This is what John said in his email...

I'm a producer for Match of the Day 2 and I was wondering if someone at your site might be able to help me.

Kevin Day and myself are coming to Fratton Park on Saturday for the Spurs game to talk to some Portsmouth fans. We'd like to talk to fans who have seen the side at home and away this season and would like their opinions on why they think Pompey are unbelievable away from home but don't see to be able to score at Fratton Park, not since scoring 7 against Reading anyway!!

If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in being interviewed on TV I'd really appreciate you getting in touch.

We'd be particularly interested to hear from opinionated, eloquent, genuine fans who would be able to give a considered view on their team.

If you're able to help, give me a call on the number below and hopefully we'll be able to sort something out ahead of the game.

Many thanks

I am a really shy person, but nowhere near as shy as I used to be but if I was going to the game I would do this as I could talk Pompey all day long. I am opinionated, like to think I am eloquent, most certainly am genuine and could give a fair view on Pompey but sadly it is not to be.

I have contacted John and told him that I feel sure that Vital Pompey has more than a few suitable candidates so if this is for you go for it!

If this interests anyone drop me an email portsmouth@vitalfootball.co.uk - just click the link - and I will pass on the contact details that you need, then maybe Vital Pompey can have its own stars appearing on the box this weekend...

vital-pomepy frequently has the "number 1" article on newsnow - and they nearly all get in the top 10. It would be great to get on TV, but having only been to 1 game this season, i dont think i would qualify...and besides, i'm out of the country anyway. All the same, its a reflection on how far the site has come!!!

its a team effort mate, i might put alot of articles out there but my right hand man paultsmouth does a crackin' job too then there are the dozens of members that constantly supply articles too, not t mention the many people that regularly contribute via comments and votes and so on... its a fantastic site that has come on leaps and bounds this last 5/6 months and long may it continue, the more we keep this team effort up the better it will be.

(at the time of writing), vital pompey had 3 articles in the top 10 (current) - more than any other site! - it would be intresting to know how many hits the site got? surely it must be going on for one of the most viewed portsmouth fan sites there is?

i know not of more popular site, and it was scary to find that my dad had posted on this site several weeks back! I never knew that he knew this existed!

storagematt, that is exactly what i hope can happen - should this come off, which i really hope it can and can see now reason why it cant? pompeycarpet, tbh i dont look at any other pompey sites, but i know pompey rivals are going through 'a tough patch' so i honestly cant think of any bigger, certainly not better than this! hits dont always mean you are succesful, but a few months back - in what was our most succesful 'in terms on hits' we had something like 2.5m hits in that month... stats dropped for a while but have come back with avengance recently...

whitestones, that would be fantastic, but if i could make a career out of this i would be laughing - but i really do this for my love of pompey, i wont lie i do get paid alittle bit, but it really is only 'alittle bit' but if i was doing this for the money i wouldnt be doing this now - you cannot put a price on love can you...
