'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Redknapp to fight all the way

Harry Redknapp has basically told The Times that he will be taking his grievance against his recent treatment all the way, quite possibly taking legal action following his recent 'arrest': 'I'm still uptight about what's gone on because it's been a disgrace what's happened to me, a disgrace.

'I'm disgusted with the way I've been treated, I really am.

'I'm taking it all the way, for sure. I'm not laying back.

'No way am I going to stand back and let what's happened to me happen. Not a chance. I will take it all the way'.

Redknapp has been visibly furious at what he has had to endure in recent weeks, he was furious at the way the whole thing was conducted when the police turned up at his house - with the media too! Why were they turning up at the same time as the police anyway?

He is turning his back on areas of the media - literally - and in his interviews recently even in his tone he has been really downbeat and is often taking a swipe at anyone he can. He really wanted the England job and still makes encrypted comments regarding why he would have been the right man but how his reputation was virtually destroyed with the way things were handled and how that cost him his chance.

I just feel so sorry for Redknapp, he might not be an angel but the manor in which recent events were handled - I have no doubt whatsoever that he had done anything wrong regarding these issues at all - were completely out of order and have really knocked his credibility, when he really had built this to an all-time high...

He has got to do what he feels best, and if whatever he does do does make him feel better and in some way makes up for the wrong doings against him so be it - from a selfish point of view I hope this does not impact on Pompey though, and distract him at all? Clearly some things are more important than football though, but we also still want his focus to also be on Pompey, which I am sure it will be.

Good for you HR and fight the louts at Villa too for their behaviour. Call our Landlord as a witness.

as said i fully support 'arry and he has to do what he has to do but without wanting to sound heartless - as im not - i dont want the personal issues interfering with how pompey perfrom, but im sure that 'arry is professional enough to put these issues aside when need be - as he has proved so far over the past couple of weeks.

as far as fighting what happened at villa goes, if this is at a 'select few' that were over stepping the mark, again if he can he should... if this anger he has against them is as a result of the 'banter' which was sung as a collective then tbh i wouldnt support him, as that was just football fans doing what the do, we do it - all football fans do, if they can seize on something and use it they will... a selection behind 'arry 'givin' it all that' when it wasnt needed is different.

Best way to show 'em all Harry is for the boys to do your talking on the pitch......let's stick it up the lot of 'em. You're the man to manage England but we're sure as Hell glad the FA are too idiotic to see that....we want you here at Pompey.
NinjaTim
Harry certainly has his share of supporters, Martin O'neil recently said that "All managers support Harry, with whats happened to him", and Villa said that they will launch an investigation into the crowd trouble at 'arry's request. He is a great professional and he knows what he needs to do so for himself and the team, and I agree tim thank god the FA are idiots

merse said similar things after the game didnt he? i was told he was saying that 'arry should be the england manager but there are 'too many idiots at the fa'... merse hasn't always had good things to say about pompey but from what i was told he did at the weekend, but has always had plenty of good words to say about 'arry.
pompeyrug
He's certainly entitled to the presumption of innocence which has been severely tainted by the panomime way in which the police seem to have handled matters.

I don't always side with Uncle Harry and dont always bow down to the fact that he is fawless or faultless but in these investigations he has handled himself with integrity and honour.. There's no way he 'believes' he is guilt of anything.. and on this occassion I think he's 10% right... good on ya harry fight it all the way sunshine..
Chix
You could see he was agitated at Villa Park he did not know wether to leave the team as it was or bung someone on.
col8
i'll 'excuse' that pun col8... Chix, only 10% right?
pompeyrug
well, 10% still leaves a " reasonable doubt " right boys !!
