Mutu - all sniff but no substance...
Adrian Mutu left Chelsea 'in disgrace' a few years back after having his contract cancelled after his shame of being caught snorting cocaine.
The fella did wrong, but so many footballers have done so in the past so although I do not know the ins and out of it I still find it hard to believe that Chelsea let a player go for free after paying £15m for him - but that is not our worry...
According to The People Pompey are one of 3 clubs 'investigating' the possibility of signing him in the January sales.
The Romanian hit 16 goals in 33 games last season for Fiorentina and has 6 in 12 this season, not a bad strike rate but the fella, although 'not over the hill' is 29 years old.
To be honest, forgetting his previous problems he would still not be for me and I would think that this is just another 'speculative' link with the floodgates about to open with the transfer window getting closer and closer to reopening.

I love how after he was banned from football for 12 months (?) after failing a drugs test he was sacked by Mourihno, "DAT'LL BRING HIM BACK!!!".

he got a 7 month ban didnt he then juventus picked him up... he is a decent footballer but i dont think he really settled in england before - other than within the coke scene :-) - did he, so i would avoid him, and dont think 'arry would go for him anyway tbh.

he is a decent striker but like you said he wasnt that good when he played for Chelsea and he would cost a fair amount of money, he wont be coming to Pompey. Its just media speculation

I cant understand why people would want to do drugs, but It if it so hard to stop like people say, i sympathy with him for being stupid. You have to look at him as a footballer, not a person, and I think he would do well, and would not mind him coming in the slighest, and I would prefer him to defoe, bent but not Crouch!

but 10 goals in 38 games is almost 1 in 4 - no better than anyone we would already have at the club i reckon... i would probably prefer him to darren bent but not over defoe or crouchy tbh.

Yes the headline is fantastic. Although you might regret reminding us of making drug puns of him if he ends up signing on (which I doubt anyway).

true, he has done it before so altho i still think this is highly unlikely he might do it again? do you remember a few years back fellas when we were linked with mark bosnich? he was coming to the end of his drugs ban and there were some links... but nothing came of it, and he still hasnt got a team! just a few weeks back i heard that he still felt he could do a job in the top flight - altho i doubt that tbh.

He's enjoying his time with Fiorentina at the moment and after selling Toni they're down to Mutu, Vieri and Pazzini. I doubt this is a go'er at all…

Bring it on I loved the fella when he was at Chelsea and mist of their fans took it hard when he was sacked, although they took the club line on things. Mutu was class and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Crouch - Oh and as for the 'problems' it's a bit rich coming from Pompey fans... Merson, Adams,,, ring any bells ??

mutu was one of those players who had loads of media hype when he came, and then just fizzled out, like robben really. he would be okay at pompey, but id prefer defoe or lita if im brutally honest!
