Villa and Pompey to end in a draw

Villa and Pompey to end in a draw

When Pompey play Villa at Villa Park this weekend it will end in a draw! Not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I do not share to be honest.

The poll was unbelievably close, with only 4% separating all 3 options, which just goes to show how close we think this game will be between 2 very evenly matched sides that will be virtually neck and neck come May, so this could prove the decider on who finishes higher?

I think there will be a winner in this match, and whilst I do still fancy Pompey to come away with all 3 points, clearly I would happily settle for a point.

My thinking is that if we keep a clean sheet we will no two ways about it win, as I feel certain that we will score, but this said I would be surprised if we could keep a clean sheet against such a pacy attack...

What the poll asked - Villa v Pompey?

How you voted - Draw 35%, Villa win 34%, Pompey win 31%

Current Poll - The new year sales are getting closer, and with them the 'rumours' getting more frequent, but who do you want us to sign?

With each day that passes the transfer window looms ever closer, everyone seems to have an opinion on this, with the media as always pulling some names out of the hat, some of which refuse to go away, but out of these names being mentioned who would you most want - this is what whitestones wants to know with this - 'which one of these player talked about in the media would you most like to see in a Pompey uniform?' Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

i think 'arry would settle for a point - hence his thumbs up - but i still feel we can win, and this is not just my heart telling me so... so im in the minority of 31%... what a contest of a poll tho eh fellas, its got to have been the closest one ever - which just shows how close we reckon it will be!

They will have a go & try to win it. They are a very good team who should finish 5-8 about where we hope to be. We have to be at our best to get something & take the chances when they come. Our impressive away performances will give great confidence to at least get a draw. A tough battle ahead.

indeed mate a tough battle between 2 very good sides - if we could come away with 3pts it will set us up nicely wont it and could upon up alittle bit of a gap from the chasing pack perhaps?

Yep, it is hard to call. In our favour, Villa have had lost 3 home matches whilst we have been quite excellent away from Fratton, and they have lost spectacularly to Man Ure by 4 goals and even drawn spectacularly, letting in 4 goals. I think logic would make it an away win followed by a draw with a Villa win as third place. Just as long as we look good on the Telly.

i hope we look good at villa park too :-) my sister went last year and she said we were awful, which we did look on the tv then didnt we - we lack ambition that time didnt we and had no intention of getting anything esle but a draw did we... this season we will go with a gameplan not to lose, but will also be much more threatening and will want the 3pts, in the months since that game in april we have become an even better side to the one we were turning into.

I'll happily settle for a point right now just to keep our unbeaten run going - It's going to be an interesting game as I can see either team keeping a clean sheet a 2-2 is on the cards for me
