Songo'o's second chance with Palace

Songo'o's second chance with Palace

Last week Franck Songo'o looked odds on to return to Pompey after Neil Warnock revealed that he would not be looking to extend his stay with Palace.

Then surprisingly over weekend, having previously been left out of squads altogether he earned a recall to the starting 11. The reason for this, as he explained to the Croydon Guardian have now been revealed: 'I saw him play in the reserves and he was as good as I've seen him.

'I told him he could go back to Portsmouth but he asked me if he could stay and fight for his place and show me what he can do because I thought he was very poor against QPR.

'And he has done that, there was no frills and he has done what I expect players like him to do'.

I am quite possibly one of only a few but I still hope that he can return to Pompey and play a part in our future, as the little I have seen of him seems to indicate that he does offer something.

Whether or not he is just looking to impress as he might feel he is 'in the shop window', or is looking to impress Harry Redknapp in the hope that he can still have a future with Pompey remains unknown, but either way he has earned himself a reprieve, so it is down to him to make the most of this...

He has looked really good at times, especially against Newport Isle of Wight, (who wouldn't you might say) but I feel he is another one of those players like Koroman and a dozen other purchases or loanees who just don't have that bit extra to make them a top footballer.

maybe - i always worried that it could be a case of him 'not being one of his boys' a left over from the perrin era that he doesnt want... i suppose we will find out when his palace loan ends - if we want to sell we will, if we dont then it either means he isnt even good enough for palace or 'arry does want him...

...Thought that went he went we had seen the last of him and quite frankley if warnock didnt feel he could do a job for Palace he's hardly going to convince Harry is he ?... I think we may see him leave come January but I'm not convinced Palace will buy him unless he has a really good spell between now and Xmas... but as Toronto says Good luck to the fella either way..

Evans - Right back or right midfield?

Drew Talbot and Adam Buxton are fit but Gareth Evans continues to fill in at right back. Should this change? If so where would it leave the battle between Evans and Carl Baker?
