Once again this week saw Harry Redknapp's name - and to a lesser extend that of Portsmouth Football Club - dragged through the mud, with the general opinion among the media that he was guilty until proven innocent!

Yesterday he called a press conference - to hear this simply click here and follow the instructions - in which it was plain to see that he was not happy with the way that his wife Sandra had been treated. I mean come on, why were the media turning up at his house along with the Police?

Whilst he was not amused in typical Redknapp fashion he still managed to entertain the crowd and have a laugh about elements of what had gone on.

I feel really sorry for Redknapp as just when he was starting to gain the credit and praise that he deserves for his efforts with Pompey - after all he is a contender for the England job - bang, the media decide to take great pride in sticking the boot in.

I could be wrong but the impression that I get is that the papers - the same ones clambering for him to get the England job! - were happy splashing his face all over the papers branding him guilty of something, but have not been so forthcoming in talking about his innocence...

Redknapp is a fantastic manager and has been for some 20 odd years, the best way that he can react to the goings on of the last few days is by doing what he does best and sending his troops out at the weekend and picking up 3 points.

We always have and always will support you 'arry.

Harry's been stitched up. But will he give up his column in (I think) the Sun if he feels that strongly about it?

React by doing what you do best!... Alright 'arry I will. I'll react by going off the point and commenting on what he said about the olice taking his wifes computer - pure comedy in the face of adversity.. just shows his comtempt towards the police. I'll tell you one thing though .. I wouldn't wanna play badly tomorrow if I was a Pompey player... He's a little angry at the mo and if we are one down at half time and playing badly somebody is gonna get a roasting that's for sure..

auntwallop, i think it is the sun that he writes in, either that or the mirror... i would hope that he will give it up, afterall when the bbc did him up like a kipper he refused to talk to them again, so why shoud he carry on writting a column in a paper if they also stitched him up...

once again you are right rev Chix with what you say - lets hope that the players are as much behind 'arry as they always say that they are and the give 200% as opposed to their - more often than not - usual 150% to get that win for him and us... another funny thing i just saw was 'arry saying that ray winstone could play him when they do a film about his life!

The media will do what it takes to sell papers, so stories of his innocence does not make as big a splash as his arrest. In one (very indirect) way, this is decent news for Pompey if this means he is ruled out of the England job ?

HARRY REDNAPPS BLUE AND WHITE ARMY - All of Fratton should get behind him & sing his name .. I never thought i'd say that again I was a Judas hater but he's been fantastic since he's come back -top six, playing great football..

Lets hope everyone is fired up tomorrow - the fans raise the roof by singing for Harry for 90 mins, and the players by winning convincingly in what looks like a difficult game. Everton are a good side, but they should go home tomorrow wondering what hit them.

yellowcheesemonkey, i was more than alittle disappoinnted that he did take over the team down the road but never had the hatred towards him that some did as a result and as soon as i heard news that we could be looking to tempt him back there was only ever one man i wanted back... thankfully we got him and the rest is history... i think you will be right mate, we will be hearing songs for 'arry for 90 minutes and more!

you would hope that the crowd will be in full voice tomorrow and the players will respond to this - if they do we will win as when we are at our best we can beat anyone, altho saying that weve also beaten a few this season when weve been far from our best... im hoping the players especially are up for it - they all say they love 'arry i hope that they all put in a performance to show this.

I haven't heard Harry's name sung at Fratton much this season. But I think that might all change tomorrow! I'm sure he'll get some stick from the away fans too, but I doubt he'll let that bother him.
