Redknapp: 'I'm innocent!' (AUDIO)

Redknapp: 'I'm innocent!' (AUDIO)

Following the dramatic news that Harry Redknapp was arrested in relation to the Football Corruption investigation, the Pompey boss came out with all guns blazing blasting the Police for arriving to his house at 6am with photographers from national tabloids, search his house whilst his wife was home alone. Redknapp was watching the Stuttgart vs Rangers match in the Champions League and was in transit on his way back to the country when police arrived.

Redknapp, who had thrown his name into the hat for the England job, denied he did anything that could be seen as wrong, claiming that the club has never carried out any transfer in an unjust manner. He also believes staunchly that he is only involved because he is high profile.

The 60-year old was arrested along with Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie, ex-Chairman Milan Mandaric, former player Amdy Faye, now of Glasgow Rangers, and his agent Willie McKay.

i believe that 'arry is innocent and it appears that he has been proven so, so hopefully these 'tabliods' that have dragged his name through the mud can help smooth things out - he's no angel, but he isnt a crook.
29/11/2007 13:56:00
this is well worth listening to fellas, 'arry isnt amused and he does explain things - yet it typical 'arry fashion he also has plenty of laughs at the whole thing. what a legend.
29/11/2007 13:57:00
Watched it live on Setanta and he sure was livid but kept his sense of humour as always. Give it a listen it helps balance some of the rubbish batted about in the gutter press this morning!!
29/11/2007 14:11:00
couldnt agree more, god bless 'arry who did himself proud with this.

Good for Harry. Very strong and credible performance. I believe him! I couldn't listen to the link on this page as my work firewall wont allow it. But watched on Setanta website. Interestingly they cut out a short chunk where he clearly says what the investigation is about . I guess the 'lawyers' were worried about it all being 'aledgedly'.
29/11/2007 15:11:00
his name was linked with the whole Lord Stevens investigation now for months this is just the blowup of the investigation, its good to hear 'arry himself clear up the story and Im really glad that its all crock, because if Harry left we would be in dire straits
29/11/2007 15:11:00
The fact that the police had press photographers in tow is absolutely appalling - where do they get off doing that?! I don't blame Harry for being upset about that. I believe he's innocent too, it has to be said that the way this has been conducted has been done to make him look as guilty as possible, and to play on the del-boy image and that awful Panorama programme, where they dragged his name through the mud without a shred of actual evidence.
29/11/2007 15:39:00
Top man Harry. Pompey fans should boycott the scum gutter press.
29/11/2007 15:43:00
In fact, I suggest it here......we should boycott the red top tabloids - all of 'em.

Duo sign professional Pompey deals

Will Jez Bedford and Theo Widdrington be the future Pompey midfield? We'll certainly hope so, clearly the Blues do too or they wouldn't have signed professional deals at Fratton Park.

Nathan Thompson - A Swindon perspective

Prior to his departure for Wigan, Paul Cook wanted Nathan Thompson at Pompey. Interest was retained by Kenny Jackett, who completed his free transfer signing from Swindon last week.

Main man for Pompey? I wouldn't think so

Harsh? Maybe, but do I really feel ex-Middlesbrough, Doncaster and Oldham forward Main will be in Pompey's 1st team, becoming a key member of Jackett's starting XI? Well, no.
