Primus' Pompey career in jeopardy

Primus' Pompey career in jeopardy

The future of Linvoy Primus - at the very least with Pompey anyway - now hangs in the balance after further surgery on his troublesome knee injury.

He underwent surgery in the summer, which was meant to have rectified the problem however he still had problems and underwent a second procedure, but still the problem was not cleared, so in order to not only try and save his Pompey career, but probably save his career full stop he flew to America to visit renowned specialist Dr Richard Steadman.

Primus underwent surgery yesterday and will now spend 3 weeks rehabilitating in Steadman's clinic in America, before flying back to England.

If anyone can save his career it is Steadman, who has worked with many of the worlds top sports stars, particularly footballers with Alan Shearer, Michael Owen and former Pompey stars Patrick Berger and Svetoslav Todorov among the people he has worked on, probably saving the careers of them all...

Even if this surgery can clear up Primus' knee problem he could still be facing the end of his Pompey career, as in order to gain his year extension he has to play 20 games this season so with the time that it will take to recuperate and then force his way back into the side - which will be a challenge in itself - things are not looking good?

However, as many have found out in the past you would be foolish to write off Primus, as he has been written off so many times in his career, several times alone during his 7 year stay with Pompey.

You do not get many nicer people than Primus so I sincerely hope that he can recover fully and also pull on the Pompey shirt again - if you can find any Pompey fan who would not wish the same I would be absolutely amazed!

Linvoy - I sure there's not a Pompey fan alive who would not wish you a full and speedy recovery - You are a true pro and Pompey through and through and set the standard for all of those around you - A modern day legend if ever there was one - I look forward to the day when we see you pull on that blue shirt again - Get well soon mate and may your God be with you.

as i said if anyone can save his career it will be steadman wont it. i dont have the faith or belief in god that optimus does but hopefully this can also help aid his recover - as it has aided him before... it wouldnt be right for his career to be pulled from him after all he has been through, this isnt the way it was meant to end for him so i will pray - even tho im not a believer - for himand hope he can not only fully recover to play again but to play again for pompey and beyond this season too!

Yes I wish Linvoy a speedy recovery, hope he gets back to full fitness soon so he can challenge for his place back, like he's done before. Such a lovely guy and PFC wouldn't be the same without him.

I think this site is getting too religious now what with the Rabbi and the Reverend, but I agree let's all pray for him.

What do we hope for from the rest of the season?

There seems to be a lot of unhappiness around, despite a pretty decent season in my opinion. Well, certainly our best season in a long while.

Debut delight...kind of!

It wasn't a result, and in many ways a performance, for Sheff United loanee Freeman to remember too fondly as he didn't really have a great game against Orient? Then again who did!
